Found March 24, 2012 on Fox Sports Southwest:
There is surface-skimming reasoning to an argument that because Dallas and San Antonio have split their four games this season, each club winning a pair at home after Friday's 104-87 Spurs victory, only the finest of lines separate the two Southwest Division rivals. But looked at from another angle margin of victory in those four games the defending champion Mavericks seem to have some catching up to do. In 27-22 Dallas' two wins over the Spurs, the margin of victory is one and seven points, respectively. In 31-14 San Antonio's two wins over the Mavs, the margin of victory is 22 and 17 points, respectively. Friday's game in San Antonio was a night of negative runs for Dallas, which put them in holes they could never climb out of. That list begins with Dirk Nowitzki, who scored a deceptively-decent 16 points Friday night. Nowitzki did so while missing a dozen consecutive shots, finishing a miserable 5-for-21 from the floor, collecting a late-game technical fo...

Joseph solid in Toros win

On Tuesday the San Antonio Spurs reassigned rookie guard Cory Joseph to the NBA D-League to play for the Austin Toros, his third trip there this season. Last night he played in his first game back with the Toros, and it was his most productive this season. Joseph finished the game with 25 points on 7-17 shooting including 12 points in the third quarter. He also dished out 6 assists...

Jackson says Cardinal's hit on Duncan was dirty

It didn't take long for new Spur Stephen Jackson to show his fiery side and add to the San Antonio Spurs-Dallas Mavericks rivalry. During the Spurs-Mavericks game this past Friday, Cardinal accidentally hit Duncan across the face during a Spurs' possession. After the game, Jackson didn't think the hit was an accident and let Cardinal know exactly how he felt about the...

Spurs PG Parker in doubt for Friday's game

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker's status is in doubt for Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Parker left Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with tightness in his left hamstring. Should Parker be unable to player, San Antonio will use shooting guards Gary Neal and Manu Ginobili to man the point. The 29-year-old Parker is averaging...

Ford set to joinToros as assistant coach

Former San Antonio Spurs guard T.J. Ford may be retired from the NBA but that doesn't mean he will be away from the game of basketball. Ford is set to be a volunteer assistant coach with the Spurs' D-League affiliate Austin Toros. "I'll look at it from another perspective," said Ford, 28. "I'm really starting at the bottom. I'm not sure where...

Green talks buzzer beaters, Thunder and more

When Manu Ginobili went down with an injury, it was a chance for San Antonio Spurs' Danny Green to step up to the plate. He’s taken that opportunity and made the best of it, becoming a huge part of the Spurs’ success this season. Green did an interview with Dimemag.com where he talked about getting his chance, his phantom buzzer beater and a few other things. During Green’s...

Blair, Duncan lead Spurs past Hornets

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- DeJuan Blair scored 23 points and Tim Duncan had four key points down the stretch as the San Antonio Spurs beat the short-handed Hornets 89-86 on Saturday night. The Spurs, chasing the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the Western Conference, trailed by a point twice in the final two minutes. Duncan responded each time, atoning for a lackluster game...

The San Antonio Spurs sign Patrick Mills…as soon as his Visa clears.

SAN ANTONIO-According to  My San Antonio, the Spurs are bringing ex Trail Blazers point guard Patrick Mills back into the country to fill out their roster. For those last seen looking for him on the back of a milk carton, the Australia native was last seen playing in China during the lockout. His agent Aaron Goodwin stated that Mills is waiting for his paperwork to get cleared...

Report: Diaw and Spurs reach agreement

The San Antonio Spurs have found some big man help for the stretch run.  Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Spurs have reached an agreement with recently waived big man Boris Diaw. "Diaw agreed to a buyout with the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, and cleared waivers Friday afternoon. The Spurs will sign Diaw for the remainder of the season." Not all of this...

Video: Duncan slams one on Mahinmi

The San Antonio Spurs thoroughly demolished the Dallas Mavericks last night 104-87 and to add insult to injury, Tim Duncan also demolished former Spur Ian Mahinmi. While with the ball at the top of the key, the Mavs decided to give Duncan a clear path to the rim and unfortunately for Mahinmi, Duncan put Ian on a poster. My favorite partis how Mahinmi just walks away knowing he just...

Tony Parker returns to Spurs' lineup

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Tony Parker returned to the San Antonio Spurs' lineup Saturday night against the New Orleans Hornets, while Manu Ginobili didn't make the trip. Parker, averaging 19.6 points and a career-high 8.0 assists, missed San Antonio's victory over Dallas on Friday night because of tightness in his left hamstring. Ginobili started in Parker's place against...

The San Antonio Spurs couldn't keep up with the Dallas Mavericks last week despite a double-double from Tony Parker. They could be in for a rough road ahead with their four-time All-Star point guard possibly out of commission. Parker is uncertain to be available as the Spurs open a brutal slate of games Friday night against a visiting Mavericks team seeking a third straight...

San Antonio continues to battle injuries, but it has...
