Here is Reggie Jackson, Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison, Thabo Sefolosha and Kendrick Perkins of the Oklahoma City Thunder starring in one of those local television spots that turn out to be unintentional comedic gold. Usually it’s because these low budget ads are so terribly cheesy that they’re funny, but this one turned out to be quite good not because of the the horrific singing put forth by Ibaka and friends, but rather because the director had Perkins play to his strength by donning his patented scowl and growling his refusal to sing Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge’s ridiculous jingle. When Perkins spits out “I ain’t gonna sing that goofy song,” I’m pretty sure he was only half kidding…just as I’m pretty sure the director feared for his safety when filming Perk’s scenes. [Buzzfeed]
BEST OF MAXIM
In the preseason, people were asking me if they should take Serge Ibaka in the third round or the fourth round, as if those were the only two options. Sure, he’s great with the blockin’ and all, but I do not consider him a well rounded Center. Last night’s game is about what I expected, although with more rebounds and less blocks: 4 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks. His value...
Athletes and local car commercials. This formula almost always produces instant gold for our viewing pleasure. Watch as various members of the Oklahoma City Thunder appear in a local spot for Norman Chrysler.
Kendrick Perkins will not sing that goofy song. Kendrick Perkins may also kill you for suggesting he sing such a song. Kendrick Perkins is actually quite frightening.
Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Oklahoma City enlisted a few players from the Thunder to sing in a commercial for them. I hope this helps them sell cars, if Kendrick Perkins’ mean mug doesn’t scare people off. AGING LIKE FINE WINE
Who says 36-year old Tim Duncan can't get it done on the hardwood anymore? Duncan posterized Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka during the second quarter of the Spurs-Thunder game on Thursday night. Duncan has provided many jams such as this over the course of his career and he doesn't look like he's going to be closing up shop anytime soon either.
Kendrick Perkins was traded from the Boston Celtics to the OKC Thunder during the 2010-11 season and many fans were not happy about the move. Perk was an integral part of the Green’s championship run in 2008 and he was a physical force in the middle.
He was a fan FAVORITE…..
Now you can change Perk’s scenery but that DOES NOT change the man. Kendrick Perkins is your quiet,...
Some would say that Tim Duncan was never a theatrical Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Maam dunker, but the advanced aged San Antionio Spurs star shows younger Oklahoma City Thunder player, Serge Ibaka, that he still has moves on Thursday night. The post Tim Duncan Dunks On Serge Ibaka (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
Since there was only one game on the NBA schedule yesterday, the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs featured our dunk of the night.
Watch as San Antonio forward Tim Duncan lowers the boom on Thunder forward Serge Ibaka:
The Oklahoma City Thunder popped up in a local ad for Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge, and it’s the stuff awkward public access dreams are made of. I feel you, Kendrick Perkins. Their next ad should just be Serge Ibaka saying “if you don’t buy a car from Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge I will rip off your arms”. In addition to Tony Parker hitting that buzzer beater on Thursday night to lift the Spurs over the Thunder, Tim Duncan reminded you why he is still one of the best power forwards in basketball. Duncan may be a 15-year NBA vet but he can still get up. Check out his dunk on Serge [...]
The San Antonio Spurs won a nail-biter against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night 86-84 thanks to a game-winning shot by Tony Parker.
The entire game was filled with many highlight-worthy plays but none were bigger than Tim Duncan smashing one down on shot-blocker extraordinaire Thunder's Serge Ibaka, blocking scoring machine Kevin Durant and Parker's game winner...
