You want to fire Isiah? Monday night, Isiah Thomas wanted to fire his players, every last one of them. When the going got tough for the coach of the Knicks, when his team quit in the second half of the latest embarrassing defeat in a truly awful season, he opened the door to the team bus and threw everybody under. Everybody, that is, but himself. Figures. It's never Thomas' fault, not ever. "A lot of things can be said about me and the teams that I have coached and the way I played," Thomas said after a 119-92 pounding from a 13-12 Pacers team. "But I have never been accused of not having heart or competing. Tonight was very discouraging to me because we didn't collectively play with heart and compete like I know I do."
