News came on October 24 that all three guys on the bubble of making the Wizards roster–Lester Hudson, Cartier Martin, and Hamady N’Diaye–advanced past the final cuts stage and will remain on the team.
All three guys seem pretty likeable, so in that regard, I’m happy for them. And to be honest, Hudson and Martin making the team wasn’t really a shocker, especially after we found out that Adam Morrison didn’t make it. But N’Diaye came as a surprise to me. He never really showed much of anything in the preseason or the summer league, and the rumor was that he would end up in Europe this season. The Wizards must have felt like they needed another big body on the roster, because there’s no other real explanation as to why the move was made.
I’ll get into more detail about the Wizards rotation for their season opener tomorrow. For now, it’s back to watching a great opening day of basketball, only enhanced by a Miami Heat loss.
