With the San Antonio Spurs tipping off the 2012-13 season in just a few hours in New Orleans, I thought I’d poll our staff, fellow bloggers and Spurs media members to get their predictions on how this season will end up.
The Spurs may be another year older, but this is the same team that made it to the Western Conference Finals last season. With Stephen Jackson, Boris Diaw and Patty Mills enjoying a full training camp with the Spurs and with the rest of the squad together another year, I definitely think they’ll be able to keep up with the best of the best in the Western Conference. The big three all look to be in great shape, but they’ll likely drop a few games toward the end of the season to stay fresh for the playoffs. I’ve got the Spurs finishing with 52 wins and starting the playoffs with the third seed. A repeat visit to the Western Conference Finals isn’t out of the question. While I won’t be surprised to see the Spurs keep up offensively with the likes of the...

Stephen Jackson takes his music as seriously as his NBA career. In fact, if the highly-entertaining interview he gave recently is any indication he probably cares about rapping more than playing basketball. That’s why he had no problem flat-out denying Tim Duncan when Duncan asked if he could rap on his new album. “I asked him if I could rap a little on his album, and he told...
Spurs guard Manu Ginobili was again ruled out for Thursday night's game against Oklahoma City because of a back problem. He could make his season debut this weekend.
Ginobili didn't play in San Antonio's season-opening win Wednesday at New Orleans and missed half the preseason because of back problems. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Ginobili ''is really close...
San Antonio Spurs' DeJuan Blair did not play in last night's season opener versus the Hornets (DNP-Coach's Decision) and he took to Twitter to voice his feelings.
This is wat I expected! Lol I'm just not wat dude wants out there it just hit me!! And that's respect! Just KNO I'm doing my part! #SALUTE

The lack of size in the San Antonio Spurs' front court isn't a secret. Boris Diaw and DeJuan Blair are both undersized. Matt Bonner is a surprisingly good post defender (in addition to his obvious shooting prowess). Then there's Tiago Splitter. Tiago's really good, you guys. He can score in the low post, he's a great roll man, he can pass. He can rebound...
Hands down, the San Antonio Spurs have the best group Halloween costumes to date, but rapper Ludacris’ costume isn’t too shabby: He has similar facial features as the #1 2012 Draft pick and of course, he uses the unibrow in the correct fashion. The San Antonio Spurs kick off their 2012-13 regular season tonight versus the New Orleans Hornets in New Orleans. The team remained pretty much in tact only adding guard Nando De Colo in the offseason.
Yet despite the lack of many offseason moves, the team got in a full training camp (which will help players added late last season) and are raring to go according to Boris Diaw...
San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is sitting out the season opener against New Orleans because of back spasms.
Ginobili missed half of the team's eight preseason games because of back problems, a troubling sign for the aging Spurs. Coach Gregg Popovich says it's vital that they keep the 30-somethings - Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Ginobili - healthy this season.
In consecutive nights, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was given the ball on the perimeter, definitely not Parker’s strong suit, and both times Parker delivered with a late-game three-pointer to give the Spurs a chance at a win.
Tonight it was even sweeter as Parker hit the three and followed with a buzzer-beater on a midrange jumper that swished through the net as time...
It’s not often that I have to check a roster to figure out exactly who was involved in a Poster of the Day. It’s not often that I have to check a roster for any reason, really. That being said, I must admit… I had no idea who Hornet #8 was when I first watched the following video.
Ah yes, Roger Mason! Remember that season he spent with the Spurs, the one where he hit...
NEW ORLEANS – If Tim Duncan is the gold standard by which all other NBA power forwards are measured, the San Antonio Spurs' future Hall of Famer gushed over what he saw across the court Wednesday night in New Orleans Hornets' rookie Anthony Davis, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. Duncan scored 24 points, including nine of San Antonio's final 12 points, and grabbed...
"Get that ish outta here"
Some would say that Tim Duncan was never a theatrical Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Maam dunker, but the advanced aged San Antionio Spurs star shows younger Oklahoma City Thunder player, Serge Ibaka, that he still has moves on Thursday night. The post Tim Duncan Dunks On Serge Ibaka (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
Wednesday night in New Orleans wasn’t exactly scripted as planned. The San Antonio Spurs, who finished with the best record in the Western Conference last season and had their entire team back, struggled against the number one overall pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday, however by the end of the night, the ending result was similar to the original script...
