Russell Westbrook scored 26 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder won their second straight game, beating the Milwaukee Bucks 109-89 Monday in a game that featured seven technical fouls and an ejection of Bucks backup forward Larry Sanders. Sanders was ejected after earning a pair of technicals in the second half, while Mike Dunleavy, Brandon Jennings and coach Scott Skiles also were assessed technicals for Milwaukee. Oklahoma City's Nazr Mohammed and Serge Ibaka also were called for technicals. Kevin Durant added 19 for the Thunder, who broke a three-game losing streak with a victory over Toronto on Sunday. Oklahoma City came into Monday's game trailing San Antonio by percentage points for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Ersan Ilyasova scored 18 for the Bucks, who came into Monday one game out of the No. 8 playoff spot and face the New York Knicks at home Wednesday in a game that could prove critical to the Bucks' playoff hopes. Westbrook scores 26, Thunder defeat Bucks

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Russell Westbrook scored 26 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder won their second straight game, beating the Milwaukee Bucks 109-89 Monday in a game that featured seven technical fouls and an ejection of Bucks backup forward Larry Sanders. Sanders was ejected after earning a pair of technicals in the second half, while Mike Dunleavy, Brandon Jennings and coach...

Lyiing about his high school basketball career is a new low for Skip Bayless

First Take's Skippy Bayless has turned his bright, crazed, Howard Beale-esque spotlight onto Oklahoma City Thunder PG Russell Westbrook in recent weeks.  (Hey, there's only so many days in a row you can talk about Tim Tebow for two hours each morning, every day through the NFL offseason.)  One of the more bizarre moments in Skippy's attacks on Westbrook was when he...

Since Ellis trade, Bucks lead league in assists

MILWAUKEE -- "We really moved the ball well again." After nearly every game in recent weeks, these have been the words that Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles chooses to explain how his team once again totaled more than 30 assists that night. For a Skiles-coached team that only one year ago was known for its stifling defense but poor offense, this year's Bucks are...

Thunder Coach Scott Brooks Says Resting Players For Post Season Is “Cheating The Game”

Although the logic behind it is quite understandable; it has always bothered me when teams in the Association keep their players on the bench for the last few games of the regular season so that they are well rested for the Playoffs. I have always sympathised with that family who could only afford to go to one game for the season; pick the last home game of the campaign and end...

Bucks frustrations led to five technicals

MILWAUKEE -- There were plenty of reasons for the Bucks to become frustrated during the course of their 20-point loss on Monday to the Oklahoma City Thunder. First, there was the one-sided score that had the Thunder already up by 17 points after just one quarter. Then there was the realization that the inevitable loss was going to significantly harm their playoff chances. Finally...

Bucks look to continue playoff push

The Milwaukee Bucks' four-game winning streak against suspect competition has aided their quest for one of the Eastern Conference's final playoff berths, but facing tough opponents hasn't been their strong suit. Enter the Oklahoma City Thunder, who visit the Bradley Center on Monday night tied atop the West. Milwaukee (28-28) sits in ninth place in the East, one game...

Thunder top Bucks with motivation from losses

MILWAUKEE Perhaps a three-game losing streak is exactly what the Oklahoma City Thunder needed. With the best record in the Western Conference, the Thunder had not been through much adversity this season. Then last week, Oklahoma City suddenly found itself struggling to get a win, losing back-to-back-to-back in games against Memphis, Miami and Indiana. Prior to that, the Thunder...

Bucks can boost playoff hopes with win vs. Knicks

The Milwaukee Bucks have nine games left to make a playoff push and perhaps none is more critical than Wednesday night's showdown with the New York Knicks. A 20-point loss to Oklahoma City on Monday was a setback for the Bucks, who are trying to chase down the Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference standings. Beating the Knicks would be a huge boost to their...

Cleveland.com: On Cavs 2012 Draft and Accelerating the Oklahoma City Model

I wrote an article for Cleveland.com earlier today highlighting the fact that the Cavaliers are in a position to use only two drafts in order to acquire the same number of core pieces that the Oklahoma City Thunder did in three.  Here is a link to that article, and below is an excerpt: They followed the Durant pick by selected Russell Westbook and Serge Ibaka 4th and 24th overall...

Knicks vs Bucks will Jennings just chuck (official gamethread)

The bucks have two guards who can go off for 30 pts , but we play good defense so this should be a game where we rise to the occassion. We need more production from our bench offensively. With the season winding down, the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks both recognize the importance of their final meeting as they fight for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference....

Thunder roll over Raptors

The Oklahoma City Thunder exemplified why they are one of the best teams in the NBA, pulling away easily in the second half to roll over the Toronto Raptors, 91-75.The Raptors were playing soild basketball and kept the game close in the first half. The Thunder were only leading by a 7 point margin at halftime, 50-43. The Raptors even pulled within 3 points with 6:05 remaining in...

Knicks-Bucks Preview

With the season winding down, the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks both recognize the importance of their final meeting as they fight for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Trying to hold off the Bucks, the Knicks will look to prevent them from taking the season series when the teams meet Wednesday night in Milwaukee. One game separates Milwaukee (28-29) from eighth...
