PHILADELPHIA -- Kevin Durant scored 29 of his game-high 37 points in the second half to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Philadelphia 76ers, 116-109 in overtime Saturday night. After having just eight points in the first half, Durant tallied 15 in the third period to key a 35-point period for Scott Brooks' Thunder. Northwest Division-leading Oklahoma City improved to 4-2 on the road while the Sixers dropped to 4-4 at home. Oklahoma City shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range in overtime after going just 2-for-16 from downtown in regulation. In what Sixers coach Doug Collins billed as the "Battle of UCLA" point guards before the game, Russell Westbrook (30 points, nine assists, five rebounds) was the clear winner over former Bruin Jrue Holiday (six points, 13 assists, three rebounds). The second half followed a pattern similar to the first in that the Thunder would take an eight- to 13-point lead and the Sixers would close the gap. Thaddeus Young paced the Six...

Day 26: Where Metta World Peace Gets His Groove Back

Line of the Night: Kevin Durant (3.33 WARP) currently sits at the top of our player rater by a huge margin, averaging 1.44 wins/week this year in 9-cat leagues compared to the second best player, LeBron James, at 1.10 wins. And I can see why. Last night was at least the third line of the night performance from Durant so far this season as he led the Thunder to an overtime win over...

Video: Kendrick Perkins talks about going up against his former teammates

Nice to see old friend Kendrick Perkins back at the Garden. Below, Doc talks about how you can't evaluate a guy like Perk by his numbers. You don't get stats for setting picks or making guys think twice about driving the lane, because you may lay them on their asses. Miss Perk.

Jeff Green isn’t very interested in the Oklahoma City Thunder

Most of us moved past the Kendrick Perkins/Jeff Green trade a while ago. Pre-trade 2010 isn’t walking through that door, and even if it did, given Perk’s OKC production, we may not like what we see.But for Jeff Green, the trade is still very much a part of his everyday life. Reporters still ask him about it. Fans still base their expectations for him on it. And because of the...

Jeff Green Breaks Out Against Former Team, Combines With Paul Pierce to Make Tough Night for Kevin Durant

BOSTON — Jeff Green found the concept baffling. His good friend and former teammate, Kevin Durant, dropped 29 points against him, yet it was suggested that he and Paul Pierce had teamed up to make the Oklahoma City Thunder forward’s night miserable. “He still got 37 points,” Green said, before he was quickly told Durant’s actual scoring total. “Close to 30, whatever....
