In late June, the Oklahoma City Thunder declined the option on Lindy Waters III's NBA contract for the 2023-24 season. With a pretty significant roster crunch, this was a move that had to be made. The team is getting more competitive, meaning someone like Waters wouldn't make the cut. With that in mind, there was always a chance he could come back on a two-way contract.
That's exactly what happened on Friday afternoon, as The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that Waters is signing yet another two-way deal in Oklahoma City. This came shortly after he reported that TyTy Washington was being waived by the team, which had to be done in order to clear space for Waters to be on the 21-man training camp roster.
The Thunder now have Waters and Keyontae Johnson on two-way contracts, with one more still up for grabs.
As more information on this signing releases, we will keep you updated.
