Russell Westbrook looks far more confident lately than he did the last time the Oklahoma City Thunder visited Dallas. The red-hot Westbrook will try to help the Thunder notch a sixth straight victory Friday night when they face the Mavericks on the road for the first time since last season's playoffs. Two of Westbrook's five highest-scoring efforts have come in his last five games. He had a season-high 36 points in a 102-90 victory at Phoenix on Monday and 32 in a 117-97 home win over Denver on Wednesday. "I come into the game confident, honestly, and I just come out and take the shots that's given to me,'' Westbrook said. Westbrook's play is impressing teammate and Western Conference scoring leader Kevin Durant, who's averaging 32.4 points during the win streak. "What can you do?" Durant said. "He's shooting the jump shot. If you pressure him, then he goes to the rim. It's like a nightmare when he's making that jump s...

Russell Westbrook a fan of Ke$ha?

Russell Westbrook a Ke$ha fan? I think so. The Thunder guard was caught lip-syncing to Ke$ha’s “Die Young” prior to OKC’s game against the Mavericks on ESPN:

Russell Westbrook by the Numbers

Sometimes when a player is the second member of an All-Star duo, that player gets less recognition than they deserve, as is the case with Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook. Westbrook is easily the most criticized member of the Thunder roster and often plays the role of the scapegoat when they lose. When they win, The post Russell Westbrook by the Numbers appeared first on No Coast Bias.

Russell Westbrook Really Enjoys Singing Ke$ha Songs

Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma Thunder took on the Dallas Mavericks in a Friday night western conference match-up and Russ was definitely excited. The cameras caught Russ singing along to a “Die Young,” a Ke$ha song, and it sure looked like he knew every last word. [@CJZero] Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Russell Westbrook making most of the night like he’s gonna die young

Check out Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook as he uses his free time on the bench to work on his vocals. Seems he really likes Ke$ha’s latest “Die Young”. It’s a shame that he wasn’t mic’d up.

Thunder snap Nuggets' win streak

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Russell Westbrook scored 32 points, Kevin Martin had 20 and the Oklahoma City Thunder snapped Denver's six-game winning streak by beating the Nuggets 117-97 on Wednesday night. Kevin Durant added 20 points and tied his career high with five steals as NBA-best Oklahoma City led wire-to-wire for just the second time this season. The Thunder opened a 16-point...

State of the Thunder: Taking opportunities

OKLAHOMA CITY With the Thunder running away from the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, the Oklahoma City bench got some major minutes. The Thunder led by as many as 28 points and all five starters got to sit and watch the entire fourth quarter. That meant another opportunity for DeAndre Liggins and Reggie Jackson. It meant another night on the bench for Eric Maynor. Thunder coach...

Kevin Durant gets funny text from grandma: Stop Cussing so much

Oklahoma City Thunder  star Kevin Durant is never too old to be scolded, at least by his grandmother. After the Thunder’s 102-90 win Monday against the Suns he received a text message from his grandma that was half cute and witty and half reprimanding. He posted the conversation on his Instagram [...]

Durant scores 52 in Thunder win

Kevin Durant scored a career-high 52 points, including the go-ahead basket with 16.5 seconds left in overtime, and the Oklahoma City Thunder held off a Dallas Mavericks rally for a 117-114 victory Friday night. The Thunder, who won their sixth straight, ended a season-high four-game winning streak for the Mavericks. It was Oklahoma City's second overtime win against Dallas this...

Serge Ibaka returns from chest injury, blocks five shots

Serge Ibaka's streak of missed games ended at two Wednesday. Ibaka played 27 minutes and blocked five shots, but his offense was lacking. Ibaka scored just five points (2-5 FG and 1-1 FT) to go along with six rebounds and an assist. It's good to see him back in action, and he should be in all lineups going forward.

Mavs can't finish job in OT loss to Thunder

DALLAS -- The Mavericks have "a heart of a champion," says Kevin Durant. "Dallas is a championship-level team, no matter what their record is." Ah, but OKC is a championship-level team and has the record to prove it. The Thunder downed the Mavs in a Friday night thriller, a 117-114 decision in yet another OT game, this time Durant as the tone-setter with 52 points...

Kevin Durant Throws Down Vicious Two-Handed Slam On Nuggets

Kevin Durant is without-a-doubt the NBA’s best young talent, and with highlights like the one he put on the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, it’s hard to argue any different. During the second quarter of a very lopsided game between KD’s Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, Durant drove past Kenneth Faried and slammed home a powerful two-handed dunk. Thunder 117, Nuggets 97

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Denver Nuggets were riding their longest winning streak of the season when they strolled into Oklahoma City on Wednesday. They were expected to provide a battle for the top team in the Western Conference. Instead, the Nuggets got a lesson in just how big the gap is between them and the Thunder. Oklahoma City dismantled Denver 117-97 at Chesapeake Energy Arena...
