Early in the fourth quarter of the Thunder’s blowout win in Memphis, rookie center Steven Adams came down awkwardly during a rebound attempt, twisting his right ankle. Adams tried to stand up, but couldn’t put weight on it. Moments later, he was helped to the locker room, where the team determined he had a right ankle sprain. In the postgame locker room, Adams had a slight limp, but no walking boot or crutches were needed, a good sign for the Thunder.

Hasheem Thabeet Takes ‘Dentist Selfie’ From Chair as Thunder Center Gets Dental Checkup

Yes, this is worthy of a story. Welcome to the Internet. You may know Hasheem Thabeet as the tallest active player in the NBA, at 7-foot-3. Or you may know him as the No. 2 pick in the 2009 draft who has scored four points, total, in three appearances this season. Or you may know him as the onetime UConn big man who is probably singularly responsible for Andre Drummond falling to...

Kevin Durant opens 'Kd's Southern Cusine' in Oklahoma City

Miles away from his hometown of Washington, D.C., Kevin Durant has to put in some effort to get a home-cooked meal. So he’s doing what any person rich enough would do in such a situation: He’s opening his own restaurant. Kd’s Southern Cuisine opened in the lower Bricktown section of Oklahoma City, the Miami Herald reports, featuring southern-style food like fried catfish, barbecued...

Thabo Sefolosha Misses Game

Eli J. Friedman of Yahoo Sports reported yesterday that Thabo Sefolosha of the Oklahoma City Thunder would miss last night's game in Atlanta because of a sprained right knee and that rookie Andre Roberson would start in his place.Roberson was ineffective in Sefolosha's place, attempting only one shot and not registering an assist in more than 12 minutes on the court. Reggie...

Thunder gets the last word, win 101-92 in Atlanta

As the final seconds ticked off Tuesday at Philips Arena, Kevin Durant made his way over to the nearby courtside seats. Moments later, a trio of his teammates followed, commencing in what seemed to be a heated conversation between a fan and the players, with Kendrick Perkins and Serge Ibaka eventually having to lead Russell Westbrook away. “He really respected how we played the...

Thunder keep rolling with blowout win over shorthanded Grizzlies

Russell Westbrook is putting to rest any doubts he has recovered from the knee injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the season. Westbrook scored 27 points and added nine assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 116-100 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Westbrook's performance against the Grizzlies followed double-doubles Tuesday night...

Westbrook’s Presence, Gasol’s Absence Big Factors As Thunder Dominate Once Again.

This was Westbrook’s final play of last season. Russell Westbrook and Mike Conley square off. Both Westbrook and Conley were the leading scorers for their respective teams (Westbrook posted 27 points, as Conley dropped 20.). If you were to tell me that Westbrook had this particular game circled on his calendar, and that he was chomping at the bit for the chance to hit the floor...

Westbrook, Thunder Squash Grizzlies 116-100

There was simply too much Russell Westbrook for the Grizzlies tonight. Westbrook went for 27 points in only 27 minutes, as the Thunder rolled over the Grizzlies 116-100. Photos courtesy of Warren Roseborough. As I was coming into the forum tonight, I met with my colleague Kevin Lipe who now writes Beyond The Arc at the Memphis Flyer. Our discussion wasn’t really about whether...

Kevin Durant gets 4-point play after crossing over Nick Young

There are few people in the NBA that can pull off crossover moves like Kevin Durant and in the first quarter of tonight’s Thunder/Lakers affair, he had a nasty one that lead to a four-point-play. Watch as KD calls for the ball from Serge Ibaka and sets up a nice transition opportunity where he got the chance to crossover Lakers guard Nick Young. Durant then stepped back and hit...

Paul George or Kevin Durant: Who would you choose to build a team?

Paul George or Kevin Durant: Who would you choose to build a team? Let’s pretend that in a magical way, we were about to start a basketball league from scratch. Call it NBA, call it Your NBA or whatever you wish. Now, imagine that all the players currently active in the league are available to choose and you can pick anyone to start, except for LeBron James. Sounds like a fantasy...
