As the NBA world, and Los Angeles Lakers await the punishment the league offices will hand down to Metta World Peace after he threw an elbow at Oklahoma City Thunder's James Harden giving him a concussion, Harden will undergo more tests today.

Harden underwent tests yesterday for his concussion and has gone through limited activities on Monday but must still be evaluated before he can return to the court as per the NBA's concussion policy.

But at this point in the season for the Thunder, perhaps it is best just to sit him out of the team's remaining regular season games. There is no need to risk further injury even if the league clears him to return before the playoffs.

Add the fact the San Antonio Spurs clinched the best record in the Western Conference in their win over Portland last night, the only thing OKC can play for is to simply head into the playoffs healthy.

Furthermore, the Thunder will more than likely face the NBA's defending champs Dallas Mavericks in the first-round, the team will need Harden at 100%. And if the Thunder do end up facing the Mavs, OKC has to know the Mavs are a veteran squad and will likely not go down without a fight and could prove to be a handful for the Thunder. Having Harden fully recovered from the elbow, and having sat out a few games will do wonders for Oklahoma.

And speaking of Peace, what do you have to say Crossover fans? What kind of punishment do you think the NBA will give Metta?
