Tiago Splitter continued his tear Friday night, posting 19 points, nine rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes. Splitter hit eight-of-10 shots and three-of-four free-throws. In January, Splitter has averaged 10 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, .9 steals and 1.1 blocks. He's shooting 56 percent for the month and hitting 88.9 percent of his free-throws. Splitter is woefully underowned (24 percent of Yahoo leagues), and those numbers should be going up after tonight. The Spurs play four games next week, so he's a solid play. After stuffing the stat sheet in his last game, Kawhi Leonard vanished, missing all four of his shots. He did get five rebounds and an assist, but that's little comfort to owners who were trusting him (he's owned in 50 percent of Yahoo leagues, and that number will likely be dropping after this dud).

Video: Splitter's all out hustle

San Antonio Spurs' Tiago Splitter has shown marked improvement on both ends of the court. He is running the pick-and-roll to perfection, getting to the rim with authority and defensively. But what stands out more so this season for Tiago is his aggressiveness in the paint. He isn't backing down from bigger centers and finally getting into the groove of the Spurs'...

Kawhi Leonard bounces back with full stat line; Tiago Splitter scores 14

Kawhi Leonard's awful night is behind him. The second-year star bounced back with a full stat line in a win Saturday over the Atlanta Hawks: 14 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block. Being Leonard, he also shot well from the field (4-8) and line (4-4). He's owned in 49 percent of Yahoo leagues. In Tim Duncan's absence (DNP-OLD...

Duncan says Spurs need to improve on road

Don't think the San Antonio Spurs' 31-11 (third in the Western Conference) is pleasing enough for them, especially for Tim Duncan. They're 18-2 home record is impressive, but they've been here before. They've played well at home in recent years and they've still gotten eliminated early on in the playoffs. Duncan is also looking at the other side of the...

Duncan's fundamentals showing with big blocks

Tim Duncan's performances this year have been nothing short of inspirational to San Antonio Spurs fans. His willingness to not only step back as the main focus of the offense shows his humbleness and his true will to win. While the Spurs are more team oriented than ever before, Duncan's contributions are more noticeable on the defensive end this year than in previous...

De Colo looking to earn opportunity

Nando De Colo's rookie season has been an up and down one so far. He's been shuffled around and hasn't been getting as many minutes as he'd probably like. De Colo's misfortune comes from the team having an abundance in point guards and guys who can play the point guard position. With Tony Parker commanding the majority of the minutes at point and Patrick Mills...

Spurs win 14th in a row at home

Tim Duncan had 24 points and 10 rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs held off the Golden State Warriors, 95-88, on Friday night to extend their home winning streak to 14 games. Tony Parker added 25 points and eight assists for San Antonio (31-11), which is an NBA-best 18-2 at home. Tiago Splitter added 19 points and nine rebounds, and Danny Green scored 13. David Lee had 22 points...

D-League Update: Toros players on prospect watch, Bakersfield player looking to be next 'Bowen'

Last week, D-League teams converged in Reno for the annual D-League showcase. The San Antonio Spurs affiliate Austin Toros went a perfect 2-0 at the showcase, and several Toros were mentioned in a showcase edition of the prospect watch on the league's homepage. While Cory Joseph led the Toros with just over 21 points per game in the showcase before he was called back up to...

Parker looking to run against Warriors

When the Golden State Warriors come to town, the San Antonio Spurs know they're' in for a fast paced game and San Antonio wouldn't want to have it any other way.  These aren't your "boring" Spurs that liked to slow the game down, this balanced mix of veterans and youth has the team thinking a run and gun pace while still defending. It's an incredibly...

Spurs continue their home domination over Warriors

SAN ANTONIO -- The friendly confines of the AT&T Center have the San Antonio Spurs surging to some unprecedented streaks. The Spurs got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Tim Duncan as they defeated the Golden State Warriors 95-88 Friday night, extending their home win streak to 14. The Spurs have dominated the series against the Warriors by winning 28 consecutive home games...

Former Spur Horry calls out Kobe's defense

Kobe Bryant, in case you weren't aware, is a nine-time All-Defensive first teamer and three time second teamer. However, for the last several years that's been on reputation alone.  One of the reasons for that is that Kobe likes to play center field on defense and often gets caught ball watching instead of staying with his man.  Despite his 2011 NBA Defensive first...

5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Hawks

The San Antonio Spurs (31-11) will hit the road to complete the second game of a back-to-back with a visit to Atlanta to take on the Hawks (22-17) and hope to correct what's ailing the team on the road.  San Antonio is 2-7 in the last nine road games. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. The Spurs are coming off a 95-88 win over the Warriors...

Spurs 95, Warriors 88

SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Spurs got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Tim Duncan as they defeated the Golden State Warriors 95-88 Friday night, and extended their home win streak to 14. The Spurs, who have dominated the series against the Warriors by winning 28 consecutive home games, were in danger of ending the longest single streak against an NBA team. Behind by as much...

Spurs-Hawks Preview

Already struggling to win on the road, the San Antonio Spurs are set to embark on a brief trip without Manu Ginobili. If last season's matchup with Atlanta and Tony Parker's recent performances there are any indication, the Spurs might overcome Ginobili's absence when they visit the potentially short-handed Hawks on Saturday night. San Antonio (31-11) has won 12 of...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Warriors

Tim Duncan and David Lee will be the matchup for tonight's game between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. Duncan is coming off another impressive performance against the Memphis Grizzlies. He had 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks and helped carry San Antonio to a win. The Warriors will be tested with Stephen Curry's recent ankle injury so the Warriors...

Video: Parker's tricky 'and 1' vs. Warriors

The Warriors put up a fight for most of the game but the San Antonio Spurs were able to get another home win (15 straight home wins), 95-88. Tony Parker finished with 25 points and 8 assists including this nifty "and 1" on Golden State in the third quarter. Check out TP doing some havoc on the Warriors last night as he connects on a basket after the harm.
