Tim Duncan has always been thought of as one of the NBA’s genuinely good guys.  He’s been a model citizen in comparison to some of his NBA comrades.  That’s why this picture (as posted on Reddit), taken from a Halloween party this October, is rather shocking.  Duncan posed with teammate Tony Parker with toy guns pointed at someone dresses as NBA referee Joey Crawford. Duncan’s beef with Crawford stems back from an incident in 2007 when Crawford ejected Duncan from a game while he was sitting on the bench.  Duncan yelled out “the ball don’t lie” after Jason Terry, then of the Mavs, missed a free throw on a foul call that Duncan thought was incorrect.  Duncan was then ejected for laughing. It’ll be interesting to see General David Stern’s reaction to this, especially after he doled out the $250,000 fine to the Spurs for resting Duncan, Parker, Manu Ginobli and Danny Green in a game last week. Duncan should expect a phone call and a Dikembe Mutombo-like finger-wagging. Stern will prop himself up on his high horse and take the opportunity to shame Duncan and the Spurs (again). But this time, they will actually deserve it.
