Found March 25, 2012 on The Victory Formation:
PLAYERS: Tim Duncan
TEAMS: San Antonio Spurs

I am not joking. That is exactly what the San Antonio Spurs box score said tonight when it listed Tim Duncan as a Did Not Dress

Timmy needed a night off, as this was the third game in a set of back-to-back-to-back. There are a lot of miles on Duncan, as the Spurs have made the playoffs in each of his 14 seasons and will need him even more this year. That 35-year-old body needs some chill time.

Box score listing for Tim Duncan: 'DNP - Old'

That’s messed up. Doesn’t a four-time NBA champions and three-time Finals MVP get any respect around here? As you can see from the box score above that Hardwood Paroxysm shared with us, Tim Duncan did not dress for the Spurs game against the Sixers on Sunday. With an aging roster that is looking to make another Finals run, Gregg Popovich has to be careful about keeping...

Tim Duncan: DND-Old

The back-to-back-to-back must haunt the dreams of the veteran NBA players. Every team has to go through the stretch of three games in three days this season. The San Antonio Spurs just finished one last night in a win against the 76ers. It wasn’t a big surprise that Tim Duncan didn’t dress, it would have been a real strain on him. What was a surprise was what was in the box...

Blair, Duncan lead Spurs past Hornets

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- DeJuan Blair scored 23 points and Tim Duncan had four key points down the stretch as the San Antonio Spurs beat the short-handed Hornets 89-86 on Saturday night. The Spurs, chasing the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the Western Conference, trailed by a point twice in the final two minutes. Duncan responded each time, atoning for a lackluster game...

Spurs sign Justin Dentmon, release Dawson

The San Antonio Spurs have annouced the signing of guard Justin Dentmon to a 10-day contract, and the release of forward Eric Dawson.  Dentmon comes from the D-League affiliated Austin Toros where he was averaging 22.9 points, 5.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.47 steals  in 38 games this season. Dentmon shoots 46% from the field, 42% from three, and 87% from the free throw line...

Joseph named D-League Performer of the Week

Amazing what playing time will do for a pro basketball player. Cory Joseph, a guard on assignment to the Austin Toros from the San Antonio Spurs, was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played March 19-25. The honor is the first for Joseph of his career. Joseph, who is in the middle of his third assignment from the Spurs to the Toros, averaged 19...

Jackson: 'I never should have left'

I think a majority of people were ecstatic when the San Antonio Spurs brought back Stephen Jackson in exchange for Richard Jefferson. The well-traveled veteran has earned a bit of a bad reputation since he left the team back in 2003, but it’s a popular consensus that he just couldn’t find the right fit. One thing is for sure, Jackson definitely feels San Antonio is right for...

Jackson says Cardinal's hit on Duncan was dirty

It didn't take long for new Spur Stephen Jackson to show his fiery side and add to the San Antonio Spurs-Dallas Mavericks rivalry. During the Spurs-Mavericks game this past Friday, Cardinal accidentally hit Duncan across the face during a Spurs' possession. After the game, Jackson didn't think the hit was an accident and let Cardinal know exactly how he felt about the...

Video: Duncan slams one on Mahinmi

The San Antonio Spurs thoroughly demolished the Dallas Mavericks last night 104-87 and to add insult to injury, Tim Duncan also demolished former Spur Ian Mahinmi. While with the ball at the top of the key, the Mavs decided to give Duncan a clear path to the rim and unfortunately for Mahinmi, Duncan put Ian on a poster. My favorite partis how Mahinmi just walks away knowing he just...

Parker scores 21 as Spurs roll 76ers

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Tony Parker scored 21 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Philadelphia 76ers 93-76 on Sunday night in a matchup of short-handed teams. DeJuan Blair added 19 points for the Spurs, who won for the seventh time in eight games and swept the season series with the 76ers despite being without Tim Duncan. With the Spurs playing three games in three nights, coach...

5 things to watch for in tonight's Spurs vs. Sixers matchup

The San Antonio Spurs (32-14) will look to sweep the last game of three games in three nights as well as the Sixers as they host the Philadelphia 76ers (27-21). The Spurs are coming off a narrow win over the Hornets last night and look to show a bit more effort tonight versus the 76ers. Also, Tony Parker is a game-time decision. These two teams met earlier this season where San...

The San Antonio Spurs sign Patrick Mills…as soon as his Visa clears.

SAN ANTONIO-According to  My San Antonio, the Spurs are bringing ex Trail Blazers point guard Patrick Mills back into the country to fill out their roster. For those last seen looking for him on the back of a milk carton, the Australia native was last seen playing in China during the lockout. His agent Aaron Goodwin stated that Mills is waiting for his paperwork to get cleared...

Video: Ginobili shows no brotherly love to 76ers with dunk

The San Antonio Spurs demolished the Philadelphia 76ers last night 93-76 which included this spectacular highlight of Manu Ginobili demolishing the 76ers, Spencer Hawes, as well as the rim. However, I got to ask, when will teams learn not to let Ginobili go left? But I digress. Check out Manu leaving Hawes in his wake and taking it to the rim for an emphatic dunk. ...

Tony Parker returns to Spurs' lineup

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Tony Parker returned to the San Antonio Spurs' lineup Saturday night against the New Orleans Hornets, while Manu Ginobili didn't make the trip. Parker, averaging 19.6 points and a career-high 8.0 assists, missed San Antonio's victory over Dallas on Friday night because of tightness in his left hamstring. Ginobili started in Parker's place against...

Cuban wary about getting pushed into San Antonio's Riverwalk

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban can certainly rile up San Antonio Spurs fans. Throughout the Spurs-Mavs rivalry, Cuban has usually been at the forefront at the rivalry (second to Jason Terry) and it would be an understatement to say Spurs fans do not care for him or his verbal-shots about the Spurs or the city of San Antonio. It wasn't long ago Cuban remarked about San Antonio...

Brian Cardinal makes light of being dissed by Stephen Jackson

Leave it to Stephen Jackson to stir things up. After the Spurs’ 104-87 victory over the Mavericks on Friday night, the recently acquired Jackson felt compelled to give his two cents on a flagrant foul Mavs forward Brian Cardinal committed on Tim Duncan. Cardinal, aka “The Custodian,” aka that guy who looks like a dad sitting at the end of the Mavs’ bench during games, hit...
