San Antonio dug themselves into a pretty big hole last night against the Houston Rockets, just like they did against the Dallas Mavericks a few nights ago. This time, however, the results were much better for the Spurs.
Tim Duncan went from having a decent game to a great game. Down 18 points early in the third quarter, Duncan scored 16 of the Spurs 28 points in the quarter to cut that deficit to four. Timmy led the Spurs with 25 points of an efficient 9 of 12 shooting, plus 7 of 10 from the charity line. Mix in 7 rebounds, a block, and an assist, and you have yourself a solid game.
Duncan is in the final year of his contract, and perhaps his final year of playing. Only he knows what he is going to do next year, but this season is and has been rough on him. With the possibility of the final year of the Big 3, how cool would it be to see them win a final one together?
No offense to other champions of years past, but the Spurs titles in 2003, 2005, and 2007 seem to be under appreciate...
