Why are Tim Duncan and Tony Parker holding fake guns to the head of a fake Joey Crawford while a noose hangs in the background? We’ll assume this was from Halloween and is just now surfacing on the Internet. It seems Halloween-esque because this isn’t the time of year when most basketballers take photos of fake guns to a fake ref’s head, especially one that works their games. You might remember that the Spurs were fined $250,000 on Friday for sitting starters against the Heat on Thursday. The timing of this photo is quite odd. And let’s not forget, in some states, making a noose is a crime. Meanwhile, ESPN forgot how to spell Louisville. As for last night’s #MACtion, Northern Illinois needs a miracle to get to the BCS after its 44-37 win over Kent State. Speaking of the Zips, this coach needs a new hat bender intern. It’s not that we don’t want to see a MAC team in the BCS. It’s just that we know this won’t end well when only 7,500 tickets are sold. If Kent State would’ve won last night, the school that hasn’t played in a bowl game since 1972 most likely would’ve been going to a BCS game (entered as #17 in BCS). Stop and think about that for a minute. HASN’T BEEN TO A BOWL GAME SINCE 1972. NOT EVEN THE MOTOR CITY BOWL. While everyone is jockeying (Boise State) is jockeying to play in a conference with a BCS bid, the MAC is quietly going about its business and almost getting a team into the dance by default. If I’m the MAC, I love where my football conference is at right now. Finally, how about the Saturday New York Post covers. It’s an all-sports Saturday in New York. Filed under: Basketball
