MINNEAPOLIS Minnesota Timberwolves second-round draft pick Robbie Hummel announced in a tweet Wednesday afternoon that he will play in Spain next season rather than in the NBA. Hummel, who was the 58th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft and competed with the Timberwolves in the Las Vegas Summer League, has reached an agreement to play for Obradoiro CAB, a club based in Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain. The team's roster features three American players in addition to Hummel: Ebi Ere, Bernard Hopkins and Deron Washington. Ere played at the University of Oklahoma, Hopkins at Virginia Commonwealth University and Washington at Virginia Tech. Other than Hummel, only Washington was selected in the NBA draft.In a release on the team's site, general manager Jose Luis Mateo extolled Hummel's versatility and shooting ability.
