Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, a two-time All-Star, has broken a bone in his shooting hand for the second time this season and will be out for several weeks, multiple media outlets reported. An MRI on Saturday afternoon revealed the fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his right hand. Love is scheduled to see Dr. Andy Weiland in New York this week to determine how long he will be sidelined and whether surgery is necessary, according to reports by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press. Surgery was not needed when Love broke the third and fourth metacarpal bones in the same hand in October. He missed five weeks as a result of that injury. Love left Thursday's game at Denver in the third quarter after hitting his hand. At the time, the team said it was a sprained finger after X-rays then showed no fracture. Love is averaging 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds in the 18 games he's played this season.
