MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves proved with Saturday's 115-86 runaway victory over New Orleans that the best thing about the NBA -- other than all that fame and fortune, of course -- is there's indeed always another game ahead in which to redeem yourself. One night after nearly getting lapped by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first half, the Wolves doubled up the Hornets before halftime on a night. It looked like the visitors wanted nothing more than fly home from a five-game trip for Sunday's Super Bowl back in New Orleans. The Wolves didn't only end a six-game losing streak and win for the first time since beating Houston at home two weeks earlier. They also led the Hornets by 34 points after they had trailed the Lakers by 29 less than 24 hours earlier. "It has been a long time, that's for sure," said Wolves veteran guard Luke Ridnour, whose team had lost 11 of 12 games before Saturday. "Just to have a blowout win is something our ...

Rubio shows off some incredible ball skills

The Timberwolves crushed the Hornets last night 115-86.  Ricky Rubio stole the show once again with his passing.  This time it was a pass to himself though. A fake behind the back pass to himself to be exact.  Pretty awesome skills this guy has.  Check out the video below. Check out our Home Page for more stories and follow us on Twitter and Facebook

Confidence makes all the difference for Rubio

MINNEAPOLIS The Ricky Rubio caricature is a flawed one. You know what I'm talking about, the smiling cherub perched on the bench, the sighing prince who waxes poetic about his teammates, and basketball, and anything else in his sunny domain. That Ricky Rubio, the one who sometimes feels like he's not quite of this world, too happy, too earnest, incapable of lying or misleading...

Timberwolves' Brandon Roy "at a crossroads"

Will he or won't he be able to return?  That is the question that everyone asks about Brandon Roy, including himself.  The Minnesota Timberwolves guard is trying to recover from yet another knee surgery, but it will be an uphill battle.  He understands this may be his last shot.  If he can recover and play again, great.  If he can't, he may be done for good.Roy suffered...

After another knee setback, Roy contemplates NBA coaching gig

Between no cartilage in his knees and another setback in his NBA return in Minnesota, Brandon Roy is not ready to retire just yet, but that is not keeping him from thinking and talking about life after basketball. Truth be told, that life after basketball could be right back in the game on an NBA sideline if the former All-Star guard had to write the next chapter. On Thursday...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Dante Cunningham scored a season-high 18 points, Nikola Pekovic added 14 and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the New Orleans Hornets 115-86 on Saturday night to stop their six-game losing streak. Cunningham hit all nine of his shots to set a franchise record for most consecutive field goals without a miss. Anthony Davis scored 18 points for the Hornets, who...

Eric Gordon out Saturday, still not cleared to play in back-to-back games

Eric Gordon won't play Saturday. Doctors still haven't cleared the New Orleans Hornets guard to play in back-to-back games, according to sideline reporter Jennifer Hale. It's a reminder to look at the schedule ahead if he's in your lineup. #Hornets Eric Gordon will not play tonight vs #Timberwolves. Doctors still haven't cleared him to play back-to-back...

Wolves Saturday: Shooting slump continues

MINNEAPOLIS This one might come as something of a shock: Since 2006-07, the New Orleans Hornets have the third-best record of any opposing team at the Target Center, 8-2. That's worse than just the Lakers (11-1) and Mavericks (10-2), and it's especially interesting considering that the Hornets have had just three winning seasons over that time. The last time New Orleans...

Hornets-Timberwolves Preview

While the New Orleans Hornets haven't won much lately, their woes pale in comparison to those of their next opponent. The Hornets, losers in five of six, will try to get heading back in the right direction by earning another road win over the sputtering Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. New Orleans (15-32) had won six of seven at one point last month, but its inability...
