It looks as if the Trailblazers will not make the playoffs this season, as there are not many games left and they are 4 games out of the last playoff spot. At least they host the struggling Timberwolves tonight who have lost 7 of their last 10 games.

*NBA ATS Matchup Report*

If Minnesota wins tonight they will sweep the season series with the Blazers.

This season the Blazers are 17-9 at home and the Timberwolves are 12-15 on the road.

Both teams lost on Friday night with the T-Wolves falling to the Boston Celtics 100-79 and the Blazers narrowly losing to the L.A. Clippers 98-97.

With Ricky Rubio out for season it has hurt the T-Wolves and they will need a big game from Kevin Love. Love grew up near the Rose Garden and he has been a thorn in the side of the Blazers with 7 straight double-doubles facing them.

The big question for the Blazers in this game will be can LaMarcus Aldridge play? He missed the Clippers game with an elbow injury and he is questionable for tonight’s game. If he cannot go J.J. Hickson, who went for 29 points and 13 boards in the loss to the Clippers, will get his 2nd straight start.

No matter who is down low for the Blazers they need to play well on the glass and there is a good chance they can win the battle of the boards since Minnesota’s Nikola Pekovic and Michael Beasley are questionable for tonight’s game with injuries.

Jamal Crawford, somewhat, snapped out of his slump going for 14 points in the loss to the Clippers and the Blazers will need his offense, as well as offense from the G tandem of Raymond Felton and Wesley Matthews, tonight, especially if Aldridge cannot go.

The T-Wolves must get over the loss to the Celtics were they shot 34.7% from the floor and the F duo of Love and Derrick Williams combined to shoot 10/32 from the field.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Portland Trailblazers Betting Lines & Handicapping

Timberwolves vs. Blazers Handicapping Preview

This season the Timberwolves are 27-26 ATS with an O/U record of 25-26-2 and the Blazers are 24-27-1 ATS with an O/U record of 27-25.

In some betting trends for this Western Conference match up the Timberwolves are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss, and they have an Over record of 15-7 in their last 22 road games.

The Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games.

Pick: This game is a tough one to call with Aldridge being a question mark.

However, since the Blazers are at home and Hickson is playing well I have to take Portland to win and cover tonight.
