PLAYERS: David Stern
TEAMS: Charlotte Hornets
Now that Michael Jordan is no longer playing and dominating in the NBA, isn’t it about time the media and/or anyone else start banging on him for his inability to lead a team from the front office? Nobody dared say anything about his Airness when he played, out of fear that they would be written off by Jordan. But as a an owner and NBA executive, Jordan is terrible, and is running the Charlotte Bobcats into the ground. However, he remains relatively off-limit by the media, as he seemingly gets a pass, ya know, because he shows up for practice to show the young pups how to play. Jordan’s inability to lead from the front office is only trumped by his biggest nemesis, Isiah Thomas. Thomas can lay claim to destroying an entire league (the CBA), and failing to lead three separate organizations (Raptors, Pacers, Knicks). Jordan is destroying team #2, as he couldn’t do anything with the Washington Wizards, besides leading them to a 9th place finish as member of the team after [...]

Mike Dunlap Fired. It’s a Shock, or is it?

The Charlotte Bobcats have fired their rookie head coach, Mike Dunlap after only one season.  He came in out of nowhere (St. John’s assistant), said the right things, started hot (7-5), didn’t freak out when things went bad, tripled the win total from the previous season and got fired. I’m not crying over this.  I [...]

Mike Dunlap has been fired by the Charlotte Bobcats

The Bobcats went 21-61 under Dunlap, finishing with the second-worst record in the NBA ahead of only the Orlando Magic. Stern: NBA May Become More Proactive In Protecting Itself, Cities

David Stern suggested the NBA may begin taking a more active approach in dealing with its 30 owners in light of the difficulties they have experienced in dealing with the Maloofs. The Maloofs attempted to move to Anaheim and subsequently backed out of a deal with the city of Sacramento to build a new arena only to sell to a group from Seattle. "We've dealt with it on a...

Charlotte Bobcats fire Mike Dunlap after one season

After just one season and 21 wins, the Charlotte Bobcats fired head coach Mike Dunlap Tuesday afternoon. The franchise will now look for its sixth coach in the past decade. Dunlap was a surprise hire for the Bobcats last offseason. He had NBa ties (Denver Nuggets, 2006-08), but hiring an assistantinterim head coach from St. John's is not the best way to inspire confidence in...

Bobcats fire Dunlap; Cavs bringing back Brown

In two rather surprising coaching moves this week, the Charlotte Bobcats have fired Mike Dunlap and the Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing back Mike Brown. Dunlap only lasted one season with the Bobcats, going 21-61, the second worst record in the league behind Orlando. Despite Charlotte’s awful performance this year, I disagree with the decision to let Dunlap go. Funny enough...
