San Antonio Spurs guard T.J. Ford says he may retire and is taking an indefinite leave of absence that will last at least the rest of the season. The 28-year-old Ford said Monday that he has suffered a series of neck and spine injuries during his eight-year NBA career. The most recent was a neck ''stinger'' on March 7 vs. New York. Ford says he is contemplating retirement. He joined the Spurs on Dec. 10, and has appeared in 14 games, averaging 3.6 points, 3.2 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 13.6 minutes. Coach Gregg Popovich says he supports Ford's decision.
