Turn On The Knicks:
New York Knicks
The Turn On The Knicks 12 pack is back, with our final grades for the New York Knicks roster. Currently at 51-27 and sitting in the number two seed, the 2012-2013 season has been an immense success for the Knicks to this point. Here is how their individual players grade out
1. Carmelo Anthony – A - A terrific season from the Knicks best player, who is on an epic tear as of late that should carry him to the NBA scoring title. Anthony is playing much more physical and aggressive around the basket, while also passing well out of double teams. You can break down the Knicks all you want but ultimately they are going as far as Carmelo takes them. Can he get over the hump in a similar way Dirk Nowitzki did in 2011? Only time well tell but the Knicks are getting the best version of Anthony right now to close out the regular season.
2. JR Smith – A - A banner year for Smith, who is going to set career highs in points per game, rebounds per game and yes even assists per game. Smith is a viab...
BEST OF MAXIM
J.R. Smith, born and raised in Jersey, attended St. Benedict’s in Jersey City and went pro out of high school. J.R. has had a good career by most standards. However something else burns inside. Like MCA said, “ Like the sound that go’s to the depths of your soul” That sound is basketball in J.R.’s world. He wants more than the money, fame and respect at this point in his...
If all goes to play for the New York Knicks in the postseason this year, JR Smith says he will be getting a Knicks tattoo.
Though the Knicks' thirteen game winning streak was snapped in Chicago, and the team went all out through overtime trying to earn themselves a victory that never came, it's easy to see they are (as short-handed as they may be) transitioning into playoff mode with their eyes on a long-term run.Though he, like many of his teammates, exhausted himself against Chicago a bit,...
The Bulls and Knicks were forced to play small ball on Thursday night thanks to a wrath of injuries to both teams. The Bulls did have Carlos Boozer to battle the boards where he matched up under the rim plenty of times with Carmelo Anthony who had a season-high 19 rebounds. Boozer countered with 15 of his own, but Melo doesn’t think the Bulls forward knows what he’s doing...
JR Smith reportedly has been ordered to pay over $48,000 to a jewelry company for allegedly not paying a bill after ordering some items from them in 2010.
According to TMZ, Smith ordered a diamond chain, two Black Jesus pendants and some earrings from Lemmerman’s — totaling $25,500.
The company sued Smith for $48,101, which was the amount of the jewelry plus interest and attorney’s...
Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points with 14 rebounds in just three quarters and the New York Knicks bounced back after having their winning streak stopped at 13 games one night earlier by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-91 on Friday night.
Anthony's streak of scoring at least 35 points ended at six games as New York coach Mike Woodson chose to rest the All-Star forward the...
DON'T RUSH THINGS
Knicks star Carmelo Anthony believes Bulls point guard Derrick Rose should only return to the court when he's ready, saying, "I wish y’all would stop rushing Derrick back."
For quite sometime, the Knicks were the joke of the NBA.
From the disaster that was Isiah Thomas, blowing up the team for Carmelo Anthony to to playoff futility it was only a matter of time before the team can return to prominance -- and their return as a top-team in the NBA has arrived.
This season, the Knicks have eclipsed 50-wins, and won their first division (Atlantic...
Much success has been coming the Knicks way of late. A 50-game winning season since 1994, second seed in the playoffs, a strong squad led by Carmelo Anthony and versus the Bulls last night, some NBA history.
During the first half in last night's game in Chicago, the Knicks connected on seven three-pointers which added to their team total of 844 three-pointers made in a...
Carmelo has some words for fans and media, who are trying to see THE RETURN of Derrick Rose sooner or later.
“I wish y’all would stop rushing Derrick back,” ”Please. He shouldn’t come back until he’s about 110 percent ready. If he can’t compete at a high level, then what’s a couple more months going to do? What’s two more months going to do? I don’t think he...
Last night, the Cavaliers fell to the New York Knicks 101-91, largely due to the stellar performances of New York’s 1-2 punch of Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith (31 points each). Rather than a traditional recap, I thought I’d take a stab at looking at some of the crazy cross-matchups that occurred in this game’s, primarily centered around Anthony playing the power forward position...
The Knicks have kept rolling since my last bench report a week ago, posting a 3-0 record since last Thursday. Two of the three wins recorded this past week are very solid ones, one coming last Friday at home against the Bucks, and the other was an even stronger win against Western power Oklahoma City Thunder. The most recent victory was this past Tuesday night at the Garden as the...
With the New York Knicks securing the Atlantic Division for the first time since 1994, plenty of speculation has surfaced regarding their capability of winning a NBA Championship. Carmelo Anthony has once again placed himself in the Most Valuable Player discussion in the midst of the Knicks impressive 13-game winning streak. Carmelo actually missed the Knicks first win against the...

Monday marked the day the NBA Hall of Famer voters finally got it right, as New York Knick legend Bernard King was finally voted into The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2013.
This has been a long time coming for King, who has long been thought to have been admitted into the Hall of Fame by players, coaches and fans alike. Better late than never...
