In last week’s Throwback Thursday, TOK showed you the short career of Kenny “Sky” Walker, the originator of the flattop for the New York Knicks. If you think that was the sweetest haircut to suit up in blue and orange, then you haven’t seen anything yet.
Anthony Mason was many things for the 1990′s New York Knicks. He was a rebounder. He was an enforcer. He was a 6-7, 250 lb. press breaker. He was the owner of a free-throw routine that only Shaq could have envied, but for style’s sake he was the owner of some of the freshest hairdos in NBA history.
Mason seemingly had a new phrase or picture buzzed in to the side his head every night he took the floor. If you think about it, he was way ahead of his time. Getting your haircut is certainly cheaper than getting a tattoo, and you can change it almost whenever you want. My personal favorite was the one of Lady Liberty’s head, but I haven’t been able to track down a picture of it. Here are some of the other favorites.
