The NBA Passionista:
The Denver Nuggets went into the fourth quarter with a 10-point lead on the Oklahoma City Thunder, but couldn’t get as many fast-break points as they did earlier in the game. Thus with less than 17 seconds to go, Denver’s point guard, Ty Lawson, dribbles the ball, and hits a long-range two-pointer to seal a [...]The post Ty Lawson’s Game-Winner (and Bernie) Versus Thunder (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.

Cue the music. Move it like Bern is happening. Has been way too long since I moved it like Bern so I think today is a good day to do it. Ty Lawson creates enough space to put a shot up over Thabo for the win. Just the Nuggets quietly sneaking up the Western Conference ranks. Iggy is playing better. No big deal here.
Move it like Bern.

Case-in-point...the insane circus shot that Kevin Durant hit Friday night in Denver against the Nuggets.
Now, we all know that the air is thinner in the Mile High City, which could be the only possible explanation for the amount of hang time Durant achieve this "Shot of the Year" candidate.

Remember, folks, not all NBA players follow the Kris Humphries stereotype. Recently the Denver Nuggets’ Andre Iguodala sat down for an interview with GQ which, while largely sticking to basketball, does get into some off-topic subjects with the guard. So beyond learning what it’s like to play in the thin air of Denver and what Iguodala thinks of Jrue Holiday as a player, we also...

They have struggled with shaking the “first-and-done” stereotype from their repertoire. Could this be the year they move to the semifinals? Perhaps. The key ...
JaVale McGee is most noticeable for his Shaqtin’-A-Fool highlights back when he was in Washington, and for the hilarity displayed on his twitter account; thus it seems sensical that people assume JaVale McGee doesn’t meet their intellectual standard. However, Andre Iguodala believes, if anything, McGee is an over-thinker: JaVale McGee is one of the smartest [...]The post...
The Denver Nuggets mascot came prepared for Russell Westbrook on Friday night. Prior to the game, Rocky the mascot, tried to settle things with the Thunder guard who didn’t pay him a shred of attention. More importantly, in the second half, Rocky brought a security detail for his traditional half court shot attempts that was blocked last time the Nuggets and Thunder met by Westbrook.
Though the Oklahoma City Thunder score more than any other team in the NBA, it might be an improving defense that proves to be the difference in their title chase.
Friday night will see that defense face a tough test when the Thunder host the Denver Nuggets, whose high-octane attack has been bolstered by Ty Lawson's emergence as a dynamic scorer.
Oklahoma City (42-15) leads...
