The Windy Apple:
Following a close first half, USA outscored Argentina 42-17 in the 3rd quarter and would defeat their opponent by a margin of 29 points ((126-97):
Shooting just 1-6 from the field, Carmelo Anthony didn’t have the best scoring game, but he was certainly active in today’s game vs. Argentina, their toughest opponent yet. Anthony immediately got off to a cold start, shooting 0-4 in the 1st quarter. Picking up his 2nd foul in the second quarter, he would head to the bench and wouldn’t return until the 7 minute mark in the third. Despite his poor shooting, he got right to work and impacted the game with his powerful rebounding. Three of his five points came on a notable 3-pointer late in the third where he knocked it down from beyond the arc despite getting a cheap shot to the groin by Facundo Campazzo. Carmelo Anthony finished the game with 5 points (1-6 FGA-M), 5 rebounds and an assist in 12 minutes.
Tyson Chandler certainly turned up his game after a disappointing show vs. Lithuania, but he still wasn’t able to make the impact Coach K and Team USA were hoping for. As one of the few defensive presences in the paint, Chandler has to be cautious with his fouls so he can give USA valuable minutes, but again, he was limited tonight because of his foul trouble. However, when he was in the game, he played aggressive defense inside, chased balls down, and we even saw an aggressive And-1 play where he did knock down the free throw. I’d like to see him get more than 8-12 minutes next game and show why he’s the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Chandler finished the night with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a block in 12 minutes.

Carmelo Anthony dishes on boxing, Floyd Mayweather & who would win 1-on-1, Melo vs. Kobe/LeBron:
Carmelo Anthony says nobody called him a selfish player until Jeremy Lin came along. The evidence proves otherwise, but as Anthony continually has shown, the facts never get in the way of a story that deflects blame from him. In speaking with reporters last weekend, Anthony once again seemed to assume that the world needed to take him at his word, as though no record exists of what...

First Carmelo Anthony was on the receiving end of a fist to the junk, and now this. But this nut shot, delivered by France’s Nic Batum to Spain’s Juan Carlos Navarro, is a lot more brutal and vicious than the one Anthony took, because Batum’s intentions were as clear and articulate as a fist to the groin can be.
The nasty incident occurred during Spain’s 66-59 win over...
On a team full of NBA stars there is no question that Russell Westbrook is the most athletic of the bunch.
