The US Olympic basketball team says guard Chris Paul's injury is a sprained right thumb. Paul was hurt Friday during the first day of training camp and had an X-ray that revealed the injury. He took part in some non-contact portions of practice Saturday, but did not scrimmage with the Americans. The Los Angeles Clippers All-Star had a protective splint over the thumb and likely will sit out scrimmages for a few days. The US team has been weakened by injuries to Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The Americans were to name their 12-man roster later Saturday.

Chris Paul still isn’t ruling out the New York Knicks as a possible future destination

Last week, Chris Paul rejected a three-year $60 million extensions with the Los Angeles Clippers , which doesn’t mean he isn’t going anywhere because he make oodles more of moolah next season if he signs a five-year $108 million extension. However, this has given New York Knicks fans a glimmer of hope.  “I know [...]

CP3 passes on big payday, for an even bigger payday

For Los Angeles Clippers fans that got a little worried when Chris Paul did not sign his extension with the team, it is not time to panic just yet. It seems Paul may have opted out of the three-year, $60 million extension so he could sign a five-year, $108 million one next summer. Of course there is no guarantee of that either but it makes sense. As Jimmy Fallon says in those Capital...

“We’ll form our own Big 3,” Paul said of possibly joining forces with Amar’e Stoudemire and Anthony - who would be traded to the Knicks seven months later - in New York.  It has been nearly two years since Chris Paul made that toast heard ’round the NBA at Carmelo Anthony’s wedding.“I know why I didn't sign my extension,” Paul told the media on Sunday before...

Isaiah Canaan is working to put himself and Murray State in position to have a better senior year than his memorable run last season The Racers point guard decided to return to school rather than pursue a professional career after leading Murray State to a top 10 ranking, a program-best 30-1 record and to the school's 15th NCAA tournament appearance before they lost 62-53 in...

Why Hasn’t Sixers Guard Lou Williams Drawn More Interest In Free Agent Market?

Regular readers of these pages are well aware that I consider this “The Golden Era Of The Point Guard” in the Association, as the NBA might be blessed with the largest group of quality players at the point, in the entire history of the Association. Although Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook and Rajon Rondo could arguably makeup the top-five guards...

2012 Dream Team Seems Very Underwhelming

Just looking at the first team photo of the 2012 United States Men’s Basketball team, they don’t seem too happy or even excited.  I’m going to call them The Underwhelm Team.  The final three spots were finalized yesterday with Andre Iguodala, James Harden, and Blake Griffin.  How was Griffin not a lock when the team was announced?  He is the only one I’m excited to see...
