According to a recent article in the Deseret News, the Utah Jazz will be active leading up to the March 15 NBA trade deadline.
Said the report:
“We’re active. We’re listening,” [Jazz GM Kevin] O’Connor said. “We’re aggressive in trying to talk (about) things.”
O’Connor has ownership’s blessing to pursue deals, but he re-emphasized that the Jazz aren’t looking for temporary benefits.
“It would have to be something long term,” he said.
The Jazz have languished near the bottom of the Western Conference with a 20-21 record so far this season. Just who the team would target, remains to be seen.

Al Jefferson looked at the ceiling and pounded his chest as he does after every game.
Monday night it was different. Jefferson was playing for his 82-year-old maternal grandmother, who died unexpectedly about 24 hours earlier.
''I know she wanted me to go out and play and do my job and that's what I did,'' he said.
Jefferson scored 33 points, including his...
Breaking Down CJ Miles’s Inconsistency
We’ve all seen it before; CJ Miles goes out for 40 points, and then he lays a few eggs the week after. Truly any man who is able to score 30+ on any given night has the ability to do it every night, right? Then naturally, we raise the question of why CJ Miles is unable to knock down his shots consistently.
As of late, CJ Miles...
Monday night, Hoopsworld's Alex Kennedy wrote that the Spurs, Jazz and Timberwolves had started talks involving Danny Green, Jazz forwards Josh Howard & C.J. Miles, guard Jamaal Tinsley and Timberwolves guard Wayne Ellington. For the Spurs part they'd basically be swapping out Green for Howard. Very early Tuesday morning, Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears added to...
SSI.com has reported that former Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan is interested in making a return to coaching and that the head coaching spot of the New York Knicks would interest him. Sloan who stepped down in the middle of the 2010-2011 NBA season after coaching the Jazz for 23 years has a career coaching record of 2024 wins and 1221, which includes three years as the Chicago...
*This post does not include stats or insights from last night’s win vs the Pistons
The Jazz did what they were supposed to do last week. They started off the week by winning the 2 easy games vs the Cavs and Bobcats, and then followed that with a couple losses to the Sixers and Bulls. Not necessarily successful, but I wouldn’t call it a failure either.
The Jazz currently are not motivated to trade Josh Howard.
Al Jefferson scored 33 points just 24 hours after his grandmother's death and the Utah Jazz defeated the Detroit Pistons 105-90 Monday night.
C.J. Miles added 15 points, including three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, to help the Jazz end a two-game skid and snap Detroit's three-game winning streak.
Rodney Stuckey scored 29 points for the Pistons, who have not won in...
The Jazz are "actively looking" at trade scenarios ahead of Thursday's deadline.
Playing at home versus on the road has made a world of difference for the Utah Jazz.
Picking up more wins as the visiting team will surely be key if they are going to eventually climb into the Western Conference playoff picture.
Utah looks to avoid a 13th loss in 16 road games and a sixth consecutive defeat to the Phoenix Suns as these teams open their season series Wednesday night...
