According to Stan Van Gundy, the question isn’t if LeBron James can be as good as MJ. It’s how much better with LBJ be than Jordan? On the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, a Miami radio show and podcast, Van Gundy told Le Batard that “LeBron James is already better than Michael Jordan.” Stan Van Gundy has never been shy from expressing himself. When it was revealed to him that Dwight Howard had asked for his firing, he told media, “I was told it was true by people in our management. Right from the top.” The difference between him comments and the past and his comments regarding LeBron is that he is talking as an analyst. He truly feels LeBron is a better player than Jordan, which will surely be seconded as well as critisized. LeBron downplays MJ comparisons

LeBron James is on a remarkable run but took to Twitter on Wednesday to express his thoughts on how people so often try to compare him to Michael Jordan.

Stan Van Gundy: “Lebron James is Already Better Than Michael Jordan”

I know what Stan Van Gundy was trying to say when he made this quote on the Dan Le Batard Show.  It is very simple, he is simply saying at this point in his career, Lebron is a more skilled player than Michael Jordan. That part of it is based in some truth, mainly because I don’t think we have ever seen anyone as skilled and physically gifted as Lebron. He is some crazy hybrid...

5 Reasons Why LeBron James Could Be, Or Already Is, Better Than Michael Jordan

USA TODAY Sports, Getty Images Former Orlando Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy made a very bold statement on the Dan Le Batard Show Wednesday, saying that  LeBron James is already better than Michael Jordan. Ever since James won his first title this past summer, the arguments of LeBron possibly being the GOAT have been continuing to rage on. This past week has shown a lot of...

2013 NBA All-Star Weekend: LeBron James Should Be In the Dunk Contest

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images LeBron James owes his fans one shot at the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. All of the all-time greats have participated in this contest. James even told TNT analyst Cheryl Miller in 2009 he would enter the contest, only to back out months later. Is James simply afraid? I believe he is. James feels he has everything to lose and nothing to gain. The last time James...

LeBron James On MJ’s Comments: Rings Don’t Always Define A Career

During his All-Star media session, LeBron James said he heard that Michael Jordan would choose Kobe Bryant over himself because he feels at the end of the day 5 rings is better than 1.  However, LeBron doesn’t think rings always define a career: “At the end of the day, rings don’t always define a career. If that was the case, I would sit up here and say I’d take [Bill] Russell...

Lebron James Says Don’t Compare Him to Michael Jordan

To even be in the Michael Jordan discussion you need at least three rings. Until then there is really nothing to talk about. Lebron is having a great stretch of games and he is totally locked into Optimus Bron mode, but none of that matters. Bron’s legacy will depend on how much jewelry he has when it is all said and done. From a practice sense, they aren’t the same type of player...

LeBron James throws down two-handed slam dunk on inbounds play (Video)

It wouldn't be a week here at Outside the Boxscore without one nice play from Miami Heat star LeBron James and nearing the end of last night's Thunder/Heat, LeBron finished off OKC with a nice slam dunk. Watch as Miami's Ray Allen finds LeBron for the jam off the inbounds play:

Jordan Takes Kobe Over LeBron

Heat forward LeBron James has been lights out in his past seven games. James has been scoring at will and has lead the Heat on a seven game winning streak. LeBron has had record performance with at least 30 points and 60 percent shooting in six straight games. Anytime an all-star player is on a great streak, the media and fans start up the debate who is the best player to have played...

LeBron James makes NBA history, can he live?

LeBron James is having a history making season. He’s accomplishing things that we’ve never seen before as basketball fans. For an NBA record six games, LeBron has scored 30 or more on 60% shooting. There was a four game stretch during this same time frame that LeBron was at 75% shooting. Let that marinate for a second. Check out a few highlights from Heat vs. Blazers LeBron...

Michael Jordan Says He’d Choose Kobe Bryant Over LeBron James

In an interview with NBA TV (set to air Monday), Michael Jordan weighed in on a popular debate around the NBA – Kobe Bryant or LeBron James? via Ira Winderman, Sun Sentinel: “If you had to pick between the two, that would be a tough choice,” Jordan, now owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, told program host Ahmad Rashard, “but five beats one every time I look at it.” “And...

MJ has his money on Kobe over LeBron; LeBron doesn’t care

via ESPN: Michael Jordan said in an interview with NBA TV that, if given a choice, he would take Bryant over LeBron James. His primary reason being the jewelry case of Kobe Bryant that LeBron James cannot match yet. Here it is quoted by MJ: ” Five beats one every time I look at it. And not that (James) won’t get five. He may get more than that, but five is bigger than one...

Thunder burned by the Heat 110-100

The Oklahoma City Thunder wanted a big victory over the Miami Heat tonight, but Lebron James decided that wasn’t going to happen. James dropped 39 points, 12 rebounds in the 110-100 win over the Thunder. Oklahoma City trailed by as many 25 points, but couldn’t find a way to over come the deficit. Kevin Durant [...]

LeBron responds to Michael Jordan comparisons

LeBron seems to have gotten pretty irritated of the Jordan comparisons before tweeting this.   I’m not MJ, I’m LJ — LeBron James (@KingJames)

'King' of the 'Alamo City'

A team’s success is based on the system, and how well the pieces fit together, as they are on the level of  talent.  As the Lakers have shown on two separate occasions, simply getting a group of future Hall of Fame players does not necessarily ensure success (see 2003 – 2004 season and the current rosters). As Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili’s time in a San Antonio Spurs...

Philly Loves Jrue Holiday (Part 2 of 4)

The Sixers have gone through their up's and down's all season long, including last night. Although the Wells Fargo Center struggles to fill up when the team hits the court, we still love them. The most beloved Sixer may be the obvious choice, but it is true. If you are a Sixers fan, whether you go to the games or not, you love Jrue Holiday. Sure he is no Lebron James, sure...
