MILWAUKEE -- All right stop, collaborate and listen. Saturday night, the Milwaukee Bucks brought Vanilla Ice and the 1990s back to the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Performing at halftime of Saturday's game between the Bucks and Thunder, Vanilla Ice played a three-song set starting with his remix of "Play that Funky Music" and continuing with "Ninja Rap" before concluding with his iconic hit "Ice, Ice Baby." "I'm totally an NBA fan," Vanilla Ice said prior to his performance. "I'm from Miami (home of A1A Beachfront Avenue), so I pull for the Heat, but I'm happy to be here and bring the heat tonight to the Milwaukee Bucks. "This is a great town. I love the Cheeseheads, I love everything about Wisconsin. I used to race jet skis back in the day here, I have lot of friends here." His performance marked the conclusion of Milwaukee's throwback to the '90s month. The Bucks wore their alternate uniforms from 1995-96 10 times over the course of the month. Vanilla Ice isn't performing much anymore, as his efforts have been focused on his reality television show "The Vanilla Ice Project." On the show that airs on the DIY network, he fixes and flips houses. The show is in its third season. Though he may have had just two top-five hits in his music career, Vanilla Ice is having fun being known as a symbol of 1990s hip-hop. "The greatest thing is that the music is timeless," he said. "I appreciate people who appreciate it. I'm having a great time out here. My TV show takes up a lot of time. When I do get out on the weekends and I get to enjoy myself with a little throwback, it's a lot of fun." When asked if he was a big Vanilla Ice fan in the Bucks locker room before the game, center Larry Sanders said his lasting memory of the rapper was Ices pet kangaroo going missing a few years back. While Sanders was answering the question, teammate Samuel Dalembert chimed in and started singing the famous riff of Ice, Ice Baby and Queen's "Under Pressure." These days, Vanilla Ices music is far from a brand new invention, but Saturday night proved the man can still light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle. Well, that first part at least. Not sure what the rest means and, really, it didn't matter to the thousands of Bucks fans, who like Dalembert sang along. Follow Andrew Gruman on Twitter.
