A bit of vintage Carmelo Anthony as he has his way with Earl Clark, despite great defense. Melo sinks a circus shot and earns a trip to the line with a few ticks remaining during the first half of Thursday night’s game in Orlando.

Carmelo had another solid performance, scoring 19 points and grabbing 8 boards in the 96-80 thrashing of the Magic on their home floor.

This is the second time in roughly a week that the Knicks have imposed their will on a slumping Magic team and they seem to be gaining steam heading into the playoffs, whereas the Magic look sloppy and out-of-sorts as of late.

Box of Ziti’s for April 5, 2012

After a bit of back and forth I have decided that it is best that I do Box of Ziti’s by myself, since the logistic (just ask what Brown can do for you I guess) of getting the games from the others is not so easy to then put them into a post. So, with the beginning of Major League Baseball, I figured this would be the perfect time to start back up, but before I do here is the usual...

Toney Douglas Re-Emerging Just in Time?

Without Amar'e Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin, the Knicks have relied upon their role players to pace the team offensively. Missing two key starters, the team is certainly happy enough to receive support for Carmelo Anthony anywhere they can find it.Lucky for them, there are potent offensive options off the bench. Steve Novak has capitalized on his ability to spread the floor well...

Isiah Thomas fired from FIU. Does this open the door for the Knicks?

MIAMI – Isiah Tomas was fired or excuse me “relieved of his duties” as coach of the Florida International University men’s basketball team this afternoon. The school announced the move in a statement posted on their website. “We want to thank Isiah Thomas for his three years here at FIU. However, we have decided to take the program in a different direction.” Let’s...

Landry Fields takes out referee under hoop

Landry Fields accidentally took out referee Bill Kennedy when The New York Knicks took on the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. Landry got fouled hard on a drive to the basket and the push and momentum carried him all the way to absolutely annihilating Bill Kennedy who was an innocent observer on the baseline. The Tortoise And The Hare: Can The Knicks Hold Off The Bucks?

As the playoffs approach, a familiar opponent is assaulting the New York Knicks slippery grasp on the eight seed. The Milwaukee Bucks and Knicks have been trading possession of the eighth seed back and forth for weeks. Suddenly, Milwaukee has emerged from the dead to re-enter the race. After watching Carmelo Anthony’s 39-point performance in a loss to the Pacers it’s a...

Amar'e Stoudemire, perpetually day-to-day

The Knicks still do not know when Amar'e Stoudemire will return from a bulging disk in his back. Stoudemire will be back at some point and Mike Woodson believes it will be sooner rather than later. That is what he told Frank Isola of the New York Daily News on Tuesday before the Knicks loss to the Pacers. Stoudemire is traveling with the team now and will be in Orlando on Thursday...

Knicks 100, Bulls 99, OT

Carmelo Anthony scored a season-high 43 points, making the go-ahead 3-pointer with 8.2 seconds left in overtime as the New York Knicks spoiled a rusty Derrick Rose's return to the lineup and beat the Chicago Bulls 100-99 on Sunday. Rose scored 29 points after missing the previous 12 games with a strained right groin, but he shot only 8 of 26 from the field and missed a pair...

Mike Woodson wants J.R. Smith’s shorts pulled up

Mike Woodson is going to make a professional out of J.R. Smith, and he doesn’t care what it takes to accomplish that goal. The Knicks interim coach has been speaking with Smith since the guard’s Tuesday ejection against the Pacers. He wants Smith to make many changes. “I told him I’m going to continue to coach him as long as I’m coaching the team,” Woodson said Thursday...

Unlike others, Love's story has lasted

MINNEAPOLIS On March 24, Jeremy Lin injured his knee, thereby dealing the death blow to the NBA's feel-good story of the moment. But don't call it fleeting the Lin phenomenon lasted a whole month and a half. Yes, that's right, a month. Exactly 49 days separated Lin's breakout 25-point night and his season-ending injury, and yet it somehow became an era. Linsanity...

'Melo, Knicks stun Bulls in overtime

Could Isiah Thomas return to the Knicks?

Isiah Thomas has been let go from FIU, and has now joined the unemployment list in this struggling economy. Could the New York Knicks bring back Isiah Thomas? Believe it or not, I can see him coming back to New York. Knicks owner James Dolan has a soft spot for Isiah Thomas for whatever reason. He is dumb enough to bring him back. He clearly doesn't care how anyone thinks...

Knicks crush Magic 96-80 staying 1.5 games up in the 8th seed

The New York Knicks (28-27) beat the Orlando Magic 32-23) 96-80, tonight in the Amway Center. Mike Woodson goes 10-3 on the season as the interim head coach since taking over a little less than a month ago. They are now 1.5 games up on the Milwaukee Bucks for the 8th seed spot in the EC and they self destruct like they did last game. By the way, Dwight Howard clearly mailed in...
