PLAYERS: Cory Joseph
TEAMS: San Antonio Spurs
It wasn't just a big night for Cory Joseph, it was a very impressive night for the Austin Toros point guard and assignee for the San Antonio Spurs. Joseph had a career game with 27 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals against the Iowa Energy. Joseph started strong by contributing 25 of his 27 points in the first half with 5 assists. The Austin Toros starting point guard cooled off in the second half with just two points, but he did help out and create for others with an additional 5 assists that helped seal the game and a double double for the night. Joseph shot 57% (8-14) from the field and was rewarded for an aggressive game at the free throw line where he shot 8-9 in the game. Joseph did all this in 37 minutes of play on Saturday night. The Spurs were sure to have watched the game and, with Joseph's growing maturity in Austin, may be getting called up soon to help out the team without hesitation. Check out the video below to relive Joseph's big Saturday night.

Spurs dominate Rodeo Road Trip, Parker's MVP Campaign Continues

The San Antonio Spurs ended their Rodeo Road Trip in usual fashion with a winning record. The team's nine game road trip ended at 7-2, mainly with the help of NBA MVP candidate Tony Parker. Parker played well in every game, with the exception of their last game of the trip against Phoenix where he was injured with a triceps contusion. The Spurs' two losses were disappointments...

Leonard, Mills lead Parker-less Spurs over Suns

After falling to the Golden State Warriors in overtime on Friday, the San Antonio Spurs were on the final leg of their nine-game Rodeo Road Trip Sunday in Phoenix where they were missing their All-Star point guard Tony Parker (right triceps contusion) and backup shooting guard Gary Neal (tightness, left calf). After 48-minutes, a game that had some excellent defense at times...

Tony Parker won't play Sunday due to a right triceps contusion

A right triceps contusion will sideline Tony Parker for Sunday's game with the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs released the information Saturday on its Twitter account. Gary Neal is also questionable for the game due to tightness in his left calf. Nando De Colo, who hasn't done much of anything, could get some extra playing time but isn't worth a look in anything but deep...

Pitino regrets coaching the Celtics because they didn't get Duncan

San Antonio Spurs fans will always remember the 1997 NBA Draft, when the team literally won the lottery and scored some guy by the name of Tim Duncan. The entire history of the franchise would have been changed if probability had worked out the right way and the Boston Celtics, the team with the worst record the previous season, had gotten the first pick. The Celtics were...

Video: Duncan passes Parish on NBA scoring list

San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan finished with 19 points last night versus the Warriors and it was good enough for him to pass former player Robert Parish on the NBA All-Time points leader list. Duncan is now in 23rd place on the list with 23,350 points (Parish had 23,334 points) and is now trailing Miami's Ray Allen with 23,479 points and counting. Relive Duncan'...

Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan fails to complete their handshake.

Thursday night, was not only San Antonio Spurs’ 26 point victory statement to the rest of the league, it was also the first communication complication between two best friends. Blake and DeAndre are the closest as teammates could get. These two know everything about each other. There are even sufficient scientific evidence to prove that their hearts share the same beat. For something...

CC video of the day: Gortat drops the hammer on Spurs' Splitter

Phoenix Suns' Marcin "The Polish Hammer" Gortat lived up to his nickname Sunday versus the Spurs and the victim was Tiago Splitter. Late in the second quarter, Gortat got the ball off a pass from the top of the key and rolled to the rim and only Splitter was standing in his way. But just one man isn't enough to stop Gortat to drop "The Polish Hammer"...

Mills, Leonard lead balanced Spurs past Suns

PHOENIX (AP) -- Tony Parker took the night off with a sore right triceps. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili were far from their best. Yet, even at the end of a long, long road trip, the San Antonio Spurs still had plenty to handle the Phoenix Suns in a 97-87 victory on Sunday night. Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard scored 16 points apiece to lead six players in double figures and the Spurs...

Even short-handed, Spurs too much for Suns

PHOENIX (AP) -- Tony Parker took the night off with a sore right triceps. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili were far from their best. Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Suns

The matchup for tonight will feature foreign starting centers Tiago Splitter and Marcin Gortat. The San Antonio Spurs have seen a vast improvement in Tiago Splitter this season. He's more active on offense and moving without the ball than in past years. His movement on offense is what's taken the burden off of Tim Duncan and his aging knees while complimenting him on...

Video: Duncan drops the hammer on 'The Polish Hammer'

They call Suns' Marcin Gortat "The Polish Hammer" due to his size and strength in the paint. However, in last night's San Antonio Spurs' win over Phoenix, it was Tim Duncan who was dropping the hammer-dunk on the big man from Poland. In the first quarter, Kawhi Leonard received a pass on the baseline but couldn't connect on the shot. Luckily for the...

After having defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in dominating fashion on Thursday night, the San Antonio Spurs didn’t have the same type of outcome against the Golden State Warriors on Friday.
