The majority of people that keep up with the NBA were expecting the Philadelphia 76ers to provide their fair share of “Lols” in their season-opener against the NBA Champion Miami Heat. Rookie Michael Carter-Williams had other plans.
In his debut in the Association, Carter-Williams already had what you can only describe as a career-night on the hardwood. He finished the night with 22 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds and an absurd nine steals. Here are his highlights from the evening:
MCW’s big night, along with some other big Sixers plays like Evan Turner’s dunk over LeBron, led Philly to upset the Heat by a count of 114-110.
We probably shouldn’t overreact to a game that happened on a strange opening night to the season, but the Sixers looked a lot less like a massive tank-job than anyone expected on Wednesday night, largely due to Carter Williams.
