Found December 11, 2012 on Project Spurs:
PLAYERS: Gary Neal
TEAMS: San Antonio Spurs
Defense was non-existent in last night's San Antonio Spurs' overtime win versus the Rockets, as the team put up 134 points. That is a far cry from the Spurs' old ways of thinking defense first and keeping the score low. But that was then, this is now. The Spurs are not just simply a defensive team anymore, as they can light up the scoreboard thanks in large part to the make up of the roster with players such as guard Gary Neal. Neal scored a career-high 29 points in the win for San Antonio and after the game, he spoke to NBA TV about the win and the team's ability to play any style. Check out what Neal had to say about San Antonio including the team's road success, his mindset when he is on the court and more.

Neal Talks About Spurs' Early Heavy Travel Schedule

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich knows the team has had a schedule with the Spurs traveling more than usual this early in the season. The Spurs were hit with two sets of back-to-backs already traveling across the country and to Canada, forcing him to sit his players as a pre-cautionary measure (and forcing a heavy fine from the NBA commissioner too). After beating the...

Video: Tony Parker's first career triple-double

Hard to believe that for 11 years playing in the NBA, San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker recorded his first career triple-double last night in the Spurs' win over the Rockets. Parker finished with 27 points, 12 assists, and 12 rebounds en route to a Spurs win. Who would have thought that after three NBA titles, All-Star appearances, and countless playoff games that TP would...

Jackson says he 'enjoyed' punching Pistons fans

Who could forget the “Malice at the Palace?” It was one of the darkest days in NBA history as the boundary between fans and players was crossed in the most explosive and dangerous way. We can look back on it now and be glad that no one was seriously hurt, but it could have been a lot worse. Everyone remembers that it was Ron Artest who first climbed into the stands, but not...

Tony Parker treated to a fancy desert to celebrate his first career triple-double

Of all the great things Tony Parker has accomplished throughout his career with the San Antonio Spurs, a triple-double was not one of them prior to Monday night’s win over the Houston Rockets. When a guard plays more than 11 seasons before picking up his first triple-double, the accomplishment calls for a celebration. Following the game, Parker was treated to a custom desert at...

Diaw Congratulates Parker on Career Night

Tony Parker's celebration of his first triple double (27 points, 12 assists, 12 rebounds against the Houston Rockets) didn't end on the court or locker room on Monday night. Long time friend and native countryman Boris Diaw tweeted a picture congratuling his friend with a delicious looking gift. Congratulations to my boy @tp9network for his first triple double. ...

Video: Ginobili's sweet pass to Splitter

When the San Antonio Spurs were not hitting one of their franchise record 19-three pointers versus the Bobcats, Manu Ginobili was getting things done with his pass to Tiago Splitter in the paint. While on a fast break, Manu found Tiago running the court and beating the Bobcats' defenders to the rim for an easy bucket courtesy of Ginobili's quick pass. Check it out.

Turiaf Considered Signing With Spurs

For a big chunk of the San Antonio Spurs fan population, the team can't have too many bigs. Tim Duncan is still the anchor on defense and can still post up every now and then with Boris Diaw and Tiago Splitter backing him up or playing next to him. Other than that, the Spurs aren't considered to have much depth. The remaining players (DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner) are...

Tony Parker sees some of himself in Jeremy Lin

The San Antonio Spurs survived a shootout of the highest order Monday night, beating the Houston Rockets 134-126 in overtime.  With James Harden out with a sprained ankle, the key match up of the game was shaping up to be Tony Parker and Jeremy Lin.  They did not disappoint.  Parker finished with 27 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds, his first career triple double.  Lin had...

Spurs-Jazz Preview

Nearly two weeks ago, the San Antonio Spurs were fined by the NBA for resting their stars. Now, they own the best record in the league behind a red-hot Tony Parker. Parker looks to build on his first career triple-double as the visiting Spurs try for a season-high sixth straight win and to continue their dominance of the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. San Antonio (18-4) has won...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Jazz

The matchup of the game between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City will be between forward Tim Duncan and center Al Jefferson. These two players play different positions but, as Spurs fans know, Duncan plays both big man roles depending on who is on the floor with him and opposing teams usually mix and match their big men against him. This matchup is going...

Starting 5: The defense rests

Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1: Only One D in Texas The Spurs have not been a defensive-minded team for a few years now. Gregg Popovich has successfully turned his team from a defensive, half-court team to one that gets up the floor and can score in a variety of ways -- using the 3-pointer as much as the hedged...

Ibaka a 'no comment' on Jackson statements

If we are going to hear anything from Oklahoma City Thunder big man Serge Ibaka regarding San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson's comments towards him on Twitter recently, it'll have to wait for next Monday at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City where Ibaka's Thunder will matchup with Jackson's Spurs. Thunder beat writer Darnell Mayberry said Ibaka declined...

Williams ends Spurs’ 5-game win streak with buzzer-beater

The situation: With 6.7 seconds remaining in the game and both teams tied at 96, Utah Jazz guard Mo Williams received the ball a-top the 3-point line. Williams was being defended one-on-one by San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green. Green defended Williams as close as he could, but Williams was still able to get a 3-pointer off that swished through the net at the buzzer as the Jazz...
