PLAYERS: Nick Young
TEAMS: Los Angeles Lakers
There’s a reason Nick Young’s nickname is Swaggy P. The new Laker recently appeared in a charity game at the Imperial Courts in Los Angeles and he didn’t disappoint. As well as having a dunk fest, Young got a little cocky and introduced a Gatorade bottle to his act. With the bottle tucked in his Lakers shorts, he continued to perform, and at one point even put the bottle on the floor, dropped a three in his defender’s face, and then picked up the bottle and took a swig of Gatorade. Swag.

Nick Young takes shot at rapper Drake in interview

Of all the NBA players who I think would take a shot at Canadian rapper Drake, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young wasn’t one of them. However, Nick took a parting shot at the rapper whose real name is Aubrey Graham in an interview that he did with Dime Magazine: Dime: There’s a lot of buzz about Kendrick Lamar right now on the West Coast. Many people have been calling you...

VIDEO: Kobe Bryant visits China

As you probably know by now, Kobe Bryant recently visited China (he also made a quick stop in the Philippines, too) but now he’s back in Los Angeles and preparing for his “comeback” season. Earlier today, the NBA posted a video to their YouTube account which gives us a little look into Bryant’s travels over in Asia, including him doing his best Phil Jackson impression while...

Kobe Bryant says surgically repaired Achilles ‘feels really, really good’

Even though Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant has been on a whirlwind tour of Southeast Asia recently does not mean he hasn’t been ignoring the rehabilitation of his surgically repaired Achilles tendon, nor does it mean that progress isn’t still being made towards the ultimate (and once believed to be impossible) goal that he […]The post Kobe Bryant says surgically repaired...

Kupchak Wary Of Lakers Tanking For Lottery Pick

Mitch Kupchak doesn't see the advantage in the tanking the coming season for a lottery pick. "The ping-pong lottery thing, even if you have the very worst team in the NBA, you're not guaranteed to get the first pick," Kupchak said. "I'm not sure getting into the lottery and ending up with 10, 11, 12, 13 or 14 is going to give us a top one or two pick in...

Kupchak on D'Antoni hiring, Kobe's future

It's been nine months since the Lakers hired Mike D'Antoni in one of the biggest surprises of last season, and after the debacle that followed, it's hard not to wonder what might have been. On Thursday, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak touched on the subject of his team's coaching search and its consequent spurning of Phil Jackson in a wide-ranging radio interview...

Jim Buss on Dwight Howard: “He was never really a Laker, he was just passing through”

Last season, most Lakers fans were ready to accept Dwight Howard, but it didn’t seem like he was ready to accept them. Did he ever really want to be a Laker? Did he ever truly embrace the purple and gold? Jim Buss doesn’t think so. According to Ric Bucher who did a piece on the Buss family for the Hollywood Reporter, Jim feels that Howard was “never really a Laker”: After...

The Lakers and Heat Have a LOT IN COMMON (Photo)

I had mentioned this before myself, just not in as much detail. When you see it on paper, it is pretty eerie isn’t it? Lakers v Heat pic.twitter.com/RtB8nvxxR9 — warriorsworld (@warriorsworld) August 16, 2013 H/T @stilettojill

Clippers tell Antawn Jamison they’re waiting on answer from Lamar Odom

We’re now halfway through August, yet both Antawn Jamison and Lamar Odom are still free agents. Why? It seems Odom is taking his time to make a decision regarding his future with the Los Angeles Clippers, which is holding up Jamison’s next move, who also has interest in joining the Lakers’ crosstown rivals: Clippers informed former Laker Antawn Jamison team waiting on answer...

Jim Buss on Dwight Howard: 'He was never really a Laker'

A pair of reading glasses sits atop the dresser in Jeanie Buss' bedroom. There's nothing remarkable about the frameless specs except for one detail: They sat on the nose of her father Dr. Jerry Buss whose smiling face forever will be identified with the Los Angeles Lakers the NBA franchise he owned for 34 years until his death in February at age 80. Under Dr. Buss the Lakers...
