Popovichface
San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is quite the character. Whether it be his epic interviews with the media, his sarcastic approach to coaching, or his surly demeanor when things aren't going well for the Spurs, there is no question Pop is one interesting cat. But when it comes to calling a timeout, Pop gets very animated, literally! During San Antonio's recent game against the Houston Rockets, the Spurs were storming back from a huge deficit. The crowd was into it, the Spurs were fighting clawing back, and during a critical moment during the Spurs comeback, Pop desperately was trying to call a timeout. And by "desperate," I mean he was excitedly jumping, flailing his arms, shouting, and even getting on the court trying to call a timeout. Check out Pop getting one hell of a workout, and perhaps the most he has had in recent years, trying to get a timeout. [follow]

Parker loves to roll with Splitter

Though it’s a condensed season, I have the privilege of covering the San Antonio Spurs’ home games here at Project Spurs. While attending home games, I began to notice themes game-by-game. One theme I’ve noticed is the chemistry between two former European players currently producing with the pick-and-roll on offense for the Spurs -- Tony Parker and Tiago Splitter. When Parker...

Parker scores 42, sets Spurs' assist mark

Tony Parker scored 42 points and broke the San Antonio Spurs franchise record for career assists, leading a 107-96 win Saturday night over the NBA-best Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder (18-5) nearly suffered their first blowout loss before closing the gap late, while the convincing win was just the springboard San Antonio needed before spending next three weeks on the road --...

Video: Lola Bunny loves Manu Ginobili

There are probably certain times during an NBA player's career when they know they have made it. He can be named to the All-Star squad, asked to make a cameo on a movie, be featured in a commercial or see his face on a box of Wheaties and much more to verify he is a legit star in the NBA. But then there's being mentioned in a cartoon when an animated rabbit professes her...

Spurs 107, Thunder 96

Tony Parker scored 42 points and broke the Spurs' franchise record for career assists, leading San Antonio to a 107-96 win over the NBA-best Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night. The Thunder (18-5) narrowly averted their worst loss this season, while the convincing win was just the springboard San Antonio needed before spending next three weeks on the road - where the Spurs...

Durant & Westbrook to become Duncan & Parker 2.0?

Because of general manager Sam Presti's ties to the San Antonio Spurs, the Oklahoma City Thunder have often been compared to the four-time NBA champs. But it's not just the media and the blogosphere that is making that comparison. Darnell Mayberry, Thunder beat writer for the Oklahoman, tweeted recently that ESPN's JA Adande asked All-World forward Kevin Durant what...

Scouting the Hornets: Spurs’ depth might be too much for Hornets to match

Briefing Session The San Antonio Spurs (14-9) return to action tonight on the second night of a back-to-back after overcoming a Houston Rockets 18-point lead to win 99-91 after Tim Duncan’s 25 points and 31 minutes on Wednesday. Tonight will be the Spurs’ fourth game in five nights, and that could mean Duncan may not play any minutes tonight. In their first meeting of the season...

Spurs beat Hornets, push win streak to 3 (AP)

Tim Duncan scored 19 points, Tony Parker had 18 and the San Antonio Spurs won their third in a row, beating the New Orleans Hornets 93-83 Thursday night. A night after Duncan scored 25 in a win over Houston, it was somewhat surprising that he even played. Coach Gregg Popovich has vowed to limit the 35-year-old's minutes and playing the West's worst team seemed to invite a night off.
