Tweet   Some things in the NBA never get old, no matter how many times you see them. Ricky Rubio passing the basketball is one of those things. The Timberwolves point guard is a wizard on the court and Saturday Rubio pulled this out of his bag of tricks.   You definitely have to be alert when playing with  No. 9 because if you’re open he will find you. He might even find you if you’re not open,  because he’s Ricky Rubio and that sounds within the scope of his ability.

Should the Minnesota Timberwolves add another all-star?

In a league where the ability to compete in the playoffs is beginning to rely solely on building a “super” team, the Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves with a mediocre roster from top to bottom. With constant pressure from teams such as the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, is it time for the Timberwolves to look into bringing in another all...

WATCH: Kevin Martin dunks over Tayshaun Prince

Tweet   When someone mentions the name Kevin Martin most people think about his prowess as a three-point shooter. The 6’7″ guard isn’t often associated with finishing with authority at the bucket, but that’s exactly what he did on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.   Well alright, Kevin.   Martin finished the game with 14 points (7-17...

Minnesota squanders valiant effort by Love

MINNEAPOLIS -- Like a magician executing the turn of a trick, Kevin Love had his defender befuddled. Having already hit a pair of seemingly game-turning 3-pointers from the left wing -- the three-time All-Star's favorite spot behind the arc -- his deft pump fake from the same spot created a comfortable walk-in space of breathing room around the left elbow. Love stepped into it...

Video: Gorgui Dieng Rejects Ed Davis At The Rim

NBA.com Former Louisville center Gorgui Dieng’s rookie season with the Minnesota Timberwolves hasn’t exactly gone as planned. Despite being a first round selection, Dieng hasn’t been a big part of the T-Wolves’ lineup this season. Minnesota is 23-24 on the season and Dieng has played in just 27 of the team’s 47 total games. In 5.7 minutes per contest, Dieng is averaging...

Defensive lapses haunt Wolves yet again

Just when the Timberwolves appeared to be stringing some semblance of defensive effectiveness together, Atlanta stymied their role with a second-half firestorm Saturday at Philips Arena. The results don't fall all that short of backbreaking: Another loss to drop Minnesota below .500, another late-game collapse, another short, tense Rick Adelman postgame press conference where...

Milwaukee Bucks lack direction in miserable season

The Milwaukee Bucks have been playing terrible basketball this season but this past month has been the worst so far.  The Bucks managed to win just one game in the whole month of January. The only win they were able to get was from a dysfunctional Detroit Pistons in Milwaukee. To say this season has been trying for Bucks’ fans would be an understatement.  The Buck’s blowout...

Hawks outlast Love, Wolves

Here are three things we gleaned from the Hawks' 120-113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta's eighth consecutive game of cracking the century mark in scoring. 1. This might have been the most action-packed game at Philips Arena all season ... and that's saying a lot The above comment goes deeper than the Hawks' blistering 38-point third quarter or the...

Wolves struggling to get the point in late-game situations

MINNEAPOLIS -- When it comes to crunch time, Timberwolves guards are prone to more anxiety than most. It's another mark of a team that can't breach .500 and stands to have more questions than answers entering the All-Star break. Seemingly all season, coach Rick Adelman has been unsettlingly unsettled at the point guard spot when it comes to the fourth quarter of games. Some...

Grizzlies top Timberwolves, 94-90

The most important takeaway from tonight is that Mike Conley was taken out of the game midway through the fourth quarter with what looked like a painful injury to his leg or ankle. We don't have updates yet, but hopefully it's not serious. That aside, the Memphis Grizzlies were able to pull off the win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, with a final score of 94-90. They...
