Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Former Toronto Raptor star Vince Carter has been elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2024.

He makes the Hall of Fame after an illustrious 22 seasons in the NBA. This is the most in league history.

Carter won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2000 and he also led the Raptors to its first-ever playoff appearance that same year. He then led Toronto to its first-ever playoff series win in 2001.

As the ceremony looms, Carter revealed on Run It Back that his former Raptors teammate and cousin Tracy McGrady will be involved in his induction:

“Yes you do choose, I’m not going to reveal all of the people because I’m still waiting for a guest…but I can confirm T-Mac (Tracy McGrady] will be there, he’s one of the guys that I asked and he was like hell yeah, I was waiting for you to call me.”

Those two formed one of the most iconic duos in league history.

Carter and McGrady were an electric duo that created a fair amount of highlights for the Raptors.

Ultimately, Carter would go on to play with the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks. He called it a career at the age of 43.

Historically, he became the only player in NBA history to play in four decades. Carter finished his career third all-time in games played with 1,541. He ranks 20th all-time in points scored with 25,728.
