This NBA off-season has been wildly entertaining. Dwight Howard finally (3 years later) made a decision that actually makes sense for his career, Josh Smith signed with Detroit, the Nets added Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce while the Boston Celtics imploded their roster, and most recently the Pistons performed a sign-and-trade to bring Brandon Jennings into the fold.  However, the team that I really cannot wait to watch this season is the Golden State Warriors. Many considered them to be losers of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes, but in my mind, adding Dwight Howard would have completely changed the direction of this Warriors team. Instead of being the exciting run and gun snipers from long-range led by Steph Curry, they would have had to reconfigure the offense around Dwight Howard, which could have turned them into the new and improved 2009 Orlando Magic. Yes, that Magic team was fun to watch and almost won the NBA Championship, but this Warriors team just finished a deep play...

Mike D’Antoni Still Doesn’t Understand Dwight Howard Leaving Lakers

Dwight Howard did the unthinkable nearly a month ago. He left the city of angels to pair up with rising superstar James Harden. Los Angeles is normally the place where stars go to cement their legacy. Well, Howard went against the grain. It just never seemed to work in L.A. for the 7-time All-Star. Dwight was frustrated for the duration of the season. He didn’t receive the amount...

Pop always wanted Metta on Spurs?

Metta World Peace has bounced around the league, but he's never played for the Spurs. It sounds like Gregg Popovich wishes Metta had.

Houston Rockets: Best and Worst Moves of the Off Season

Houston Rockets: Best and Worst Moves of the Off Season By Mike Elworth: Owner and Publisher/Hoopstuff…. Best Move: Dwight Howard - The Rockets signed the best center in the NBA, who is a superstar and a true offensive and defensive force. Pretty easy choice that does not explanation, but if you need one, he makes their offense even better, even though they were 2nd in the NBA...

Nash: Lakers will fly under radar

With Dwight Howard's decision nearly a month in the past and their roster beginning to fill out, the Lakers have fallen a bit out of the spotlight in recent weeks. The attention will be back, for certain; future points of debate range from Kobe Bryant's health to the team's first matchup with the Rockets to its coaching situation. If the Lakers play well, it will be...

Los Angeles Lakers: Best and Worst Off Season Moves

Los Angeles Lakers: Best and Worst Offseason Moves By Milan George: Hoopstuff Writer Best Move: Amnesty of Metta World Peace -The Lakers needed pieces to improve their bench and team after losing star center, Dwight Howard. With Metta World Peace having an outrageous contract it was clear that the only other big move Mitch Kupchak had to make was using the amnesty clause on Metta...

Kupchak: Lakers Did Everything 'Within Reason' To Re-Sign Howard

Mitch Kupchak conducted his first interview since Dwight Howard decided to leave the Los Angeles Lakers to sign with the Houston Rockets. "It wasn't a surprise. I had a feeling that Houston was a frontrunner, and whenever a player is an unrestricted free agent, anything can happen," Kupchak said. "Clearly, we wanted to keep him here in Los Angeles, and I felt we...

Gasol eager to reclaim the post left by Howard

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- With Dwight Howard gone and Kobe Bryant injured, Pau Gasol is looking to reassert himself as a leader of the Los Angeles Lakers. Knees allowing, he wants to be the dominant player of old who helped Bryant & Co. win NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. "I think I have the most uncertain period behind me," Gasol told The Associated Press on Tuesday...

Dez Bryant Says It’s Redskins Dezmon Briscoe Who Likes To Get Peed On

I find this all a bit humorous. Just to review a groupie went on Twitter and said Dez Bryant likes straps on and to be peed on. Dez responded by saying that he was going to sue the groupie for her false claims. The groupie deleted her Twitter account and now Dez has added a twist to the story.  He has released these text messages via his twitter account that he received from the...

Nash hoping Lakers will surprise their critics

With Dwight Howard having exited Los Angeles for the lower tax rates in Houston and an aging Kobe Bryant attempting to come back after undergoing Achilles surgery many believe the Lakers will suffer through a miserable 2013-14 season. Canadian point guard Steve Nash believes the Lakers could catch teams off guard though. “I think everyone’s kind of counting us out which is...

Report: Chris Paul Threatened to Leave L.A. for Houston if Clippers Didn’t Land Doc Rivers

Dwight Howard bolted the Los Angeles Lakers for the Houston Rockets, and the perception continues to be that Howard left because he didn’t like head coach Mike D’Antoni‘s system. Well, apparently Howard wasn’t the only L.A. basketball player to desire to leave if he didn’t get his coach — only this one got his way. Chris Paul threatened the Clippers that he would leave...

The Lakers ARE NOT tanking

Putting the words "Los Angeles Lakers" and "tanking" in the same sentence is an odd thing. The Lakers are not a team that finds themselves competing for ping pong balls or near the bottom of the standings. With Dwight Howard leaving in free agency and Kobe Bryant down for who knows how long with his ruptured Achilles, some people dared to use the "t"...
