Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Suddenly, the Golden State Warriors only lead out west by one game.

That’s because on Tuesday night, they would drop consecutive games for the first time all season. But that’s not all. In the process, the Oklahoma City Thunder would snap their four-game losing streak. Simply put, they haven’t been the same side since losing Andre Roberson.

But the Warriors just didn’t have enough on Tuesday during their 125-105 loss. Kevin Durant would net 33 himself, but Steph Curry and Klay Thompson would only combine for 33 themselves. Even worse, they combined to shoot just 11-of-27 from three-point range. It simply just wasn’t their night.

And now the Houston Rockets, winners of five in a row and five of their last 10, are just one game off the pace. Coming into this one, Golden State had been 11-0 this season following a loss. In the meantime Oklahoma City improves to 31-24 while holding firm in fifth, 2.5 games back of the Timberwolves.

Of course, there’s no reason for the Warriors to panic. And up next, they get the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Meanwhile, OKC takes on the Lakers Thursday. The Mavericks are the worst team out west while the Lakers have won seven of their last 10.

Surely Golden State’s losing streak doesn’t reach three, right?
