PHOTO CREDIT: Sports Illustrated Jason Collins’ decision to announce that he is gay made him the first active player in a major American team sport to do so. For most of the day, there has been a overwhelming amount of support for Jason Collins as the feeling has been that of progression. But then the controversy set in. It started with Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Mike Wallace tweeting his feelings on the subject. Then Mark Jackson and Chris Broussard expressed their feelings on the hot topic. While Broussard was straight forward with his opinions, Mark Jackson took the cryptic route. Broussard shared his honest opinions while quoting the bible for his reasoning, while Mark Jackson seemed to dance around his feelings by also using the religious card. Chris Broussard via ESPN’s Outside The Lines: H/T  Deadspin “If you’re openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be, not just homosexuality, (but) adultery, fornication, premarital sex between heterosexuals … I believe that’s walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ,”  Broussard said. “I would not characterize that person as a Christian, because I don’t think the Bible would characterize them as a Christian.” Mark Jackson was also asked about his thoughts on Jason Collins’ decision to come out as a gay man. Keep in mind that Jackson works for openly gay team president Rick Welts.   Jackson: “As a Christian man I have beliefs of what’s right and what’s wrong, that being said, I know Jason Collins, I know his family..” — Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) April 29, 2013     Mark Jackson says he’s praying for Jason Collins’ family. — Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) April 29, 2013 Jackson, on whether Collins would be welcome as a Warrior: “If he had game, if he could help this basketball team.” — Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) April 29, 2013   The post Warriors’ Mark Jackson and ESPN’s Chris Broussard have a different take on Jason Collins appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
