The Warriors made final cuts Friday after Thursday’s fart noise of a preseason finale. And, no surprise, Seth Curry will not be doing a Willie Mays Hayes dance outside the stadium.
Steph’s little bro put up 2.2 points and 1.0 assists in a scant 7.2 minutes over six preseason appearances after being signed as an undrafted free agent back in August. His release shouldn’t come as a shock to anybody, even his own brother. But from the Warriors perspective it’s still has to be, even in the teensiest of fractions, kinda awkward cutting the brother of your best player. Still, give it up to them for not falling into a trap of nepotism. Right, Knicks?
What is surprising, however, is that the Warriors also gave walking papers to center Dewayne Dedmon, who stood out among the players with non-guaranteed contracts and was expected to be given the last available spot on the roster to give the Warriors more depth in the front court.
