After a tumultous start to the NBA season which has seen the Washington Wizards begin 1-8, after attaining their first win today against the Toronto Raptors, the Wizards front office has not decided to part with Saunders just yet. Although the Wizards did enter their game against the Raptors without a win in eight games this season the Wizards still have faith in their head coach. But there is some speculation and word keeps circulating that at some point this season, maybe soon, that the Wizards will fire Saunders.
Even though there has been turmoil on the Wizards this season, namely Rashard Lewis and John Wall upset with the team, sources are still confirming that Saunders will not be fired even if he has led the Wizards to a measly 49-123 record in his short time with the team. Saunders has one more year, worth $18 million, left on his contract and it seems that the Wizards are intent on letting him remain as head coach for that time.
