The Nosebleeds OLD:
Over the past week, New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has turned into an overnight sensation in the NBA with his great play. The Harvard University graduate, who entered the NBA as an undrafted free agent last year and has been cut by both the Warriors and the Rockets this season alone, was only recalled from the D-League just a few weeks ago, has taken New York by storm due to his exciting play, including this crossover and dunk on Wizards phenom John Wall last night:
I've been a fan of Lin ever since I saw him play in a Summer League game against the Wizards last year and outplay the top overall draft pick Wall. Now it looks the rest of the basketball world is finally catching on, and for good reason.
Lin, who is the first American NBA player from Chinese or Taiwanese descent, has scored more than 20 points in his last three games and recorded his first career double-double last night. The kid's no fluke either. He's got a ton of athletic ability and a great set of hands.
If his recent highlight reels haven't proven that to you enough, check out the video at the top of this post and watch him dominate an intramural flag football game at Harvard in 2009. He just takes over the game on both sides of the ball and makes play after play. It may be just a college intramural game, but once a playmaker...always a playmaker.
You can't deny that the dude is fun to watch not only on the hardwood, but on the turf as well. Linsanity is in full effect.
