Watch: Nuggets Champion Gets Ovation at Denver Broncos Game
USA TODAY Sports

Denver Nuggets champion Peyton Watson attended the Denver Broncos game last week, which happened to be one day before his 21st birthday. Getting a shoutout from the Broncos public address announcer during the game, Watson received an ovation from the Denver fans. Sharing his reaction to this warm reception, Watson thanked the Broncos and their fans for the love:

It is a very exciting time for Colorado sports right now, because while the Broncos have suffered two heartbreaking losses to begin their season, the Nuggets are still celebrating their championship, and the Colorado Buffaloes football team is the talk of sports.

Few things can unite a city the way sports can, which is why it's always fun to see players from other sports come out to support their home teams. Attending the Broncos game before his birthday, Watson was able to receive a nice reception from the Denver crowd, many of which are also Nuggets fans.

Watson did not play much for the Nuggets last season, appearing in just 23 regular season games and just five postseason games. That said, it was a great first year for him, as he was able to learn under some of the game's best players while also winning a ring. With some of Denver's key rotation players departing this summer, perhaps Watson could play a bigger role for the Nuggets next season.
