With their backs against the wall, the start of Game 6 had the makings of a long evening for the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, they turned the tables on the Denver Nuggets, going on an incredible run to close out the first quarter.
The Nuggets started hot, gaining an early seven-point advantage. But the Timberwolves responded, racking up 20 unanswered points. Ultimately, after falling behind 9-2, Minnesota outscored Denver 29-5 to take a 17-point lead (31-14) into the second quarter.

The Timberwolves' impressive streak was made even more so by how they scored. Several times, they turned strong defense into transition offense, leading to easy points that had the home crowd at Target Center fired up.

After jumping out to a surprising 2-0 lead over the Nuggets, the Timberwolves entered Thursday night with their season on the line after dropping three straight, two by double-digits. With a victory, they'll force a deciding Game 7 in Denver on Sunday.
