Anthony Edwards recently revealed during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Media Day that he has been taking pointers from Michael Jordan, particularly on how to attack double teams and improve his post-up game.

While Jordan hasn’t had a problem helping out Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves swingman admitted that he doesn’t consider himself in a close relationship with the six-time NBA MVP.

“Just getting to my spots, pulling up, shooting over the defender,” Edwards explained. “I think the best tip that he gave me is most people lean on people in the post with their a**, and he do it with the top part of his back. So I think I learned that from him.”

“Nah, we don’t really have no relationship,” he added about Jordan. “How y’all think we got one right now? It’ll come in years to come, but right now it’s just through somebody.”

Minnesota Timberwolves News: Anthony Edwards draws praise from teammate for his work ethic this summer

During the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Media Day, Donte DiVincenzo said he has witnessed massive growth from Anthony Edwards in the summer.

“I didn’t know what he was doing last summer, but I think his attention to detail this summer is something that he’s really focused on, being very simple, getting to the moves that he wants to get to,” DiVincenzo said about Edwards. “I think that simplicity factor is huge for him, and making the balance of making plays for himself and others.”

“You’ve seen it, we’ve been playing, playing pickup, and you just see everything he’s been trying to work on, he’s trying to implement in the game situation,” he continued. “And he’s continuing to grow, like where he is right now from when I first got here. It’s only been a year, and it’s completely a huge growth.”
