It seems like just last week when we were rolling out the red carpeted box score for first-overall selection Kyrie Irving. Missing three games thanks to a wayward Dwyane Wade kneecap, Irving returned with a vengence and consistency we have come to appreciate over the first two months of his rookie campaign. The juxtaposition between he and fellow freshman Tristan Thompson — aside from the obvious polar opposite approach to difference-making — had multiple folds. Irving’s injury didn’t exactly occur within the flow of the game; his head collided with Wade’s knee after a foul on the point guards way to the basket.  Once cleared, he was able to pick right up where he left off. Thompson had to take things at a slightly slower pace. His game, rooted in the two springboards which you or I would call “legs,” relies on one of the body parts he injured through the course of a contest. “Bouncey,” as he says. Kyrie Irving: A Star In The Making

When the Cleveland Cavaliers took Kyrie Irving as the first overall choice of the 2011 draft, many thought that the franchise made a big mistake as they should have taken a other prospect such as Derrick Williams etc. This came because Kyrie, although was a great player in college, played only eleven games and had a toe injury that kept him sidelines for some time. Many questioned...

LeBron Who? Kyrie Irving Just Might Get Cleveland Fans To Forget The Past

The circus came to Cleveland in June of 2003 and stayed in town until July of 2010 when a building size poster of its featured performer was ripped with rancor from the outside of a structure near Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. Eighteen months later Cavaliers fans still have not totally gotten over the fact that former NBA MVP LeBron James dumped them for that team in South...

Yet again, Kyrie shows late-game moxie

CLEVELAND -- These are the types of games a team on the rebuild isnt supposed to win. OK, so the Cavaliers dont like to use the word rebuilding very much. I get that. But at the very least, theyre repurposing -- kind of like taking what was once a vacant building and decorating it with some fancy lights. And it was lights out for Detroit on Tuesday at The Q, as the Cavs overcame...

Trying To Move On After Cavaliers Get Smashed By Heat Again

The game itself was a complete let-down. It was boring, there was no real effort coming from the Cleveland side, and as soon as it started it was over. It ended 111-87, with the Cavaliers down 24, and the loudest cheers of the night from the home crowd came following each time the Cavs battled back to momentarily...
