 Wendell Carter Jr. Scores 27, Leads Magic Past Heat in Overtime in Orlando

The Orlando Magic are heading into this final stretch of the regular season looking to keep their NBA Play-In chances alive. The Magic faced the Miami Heat in a Southeast Division showdown in Orlando. The Magic were able to earn the 126-114 win over the Heat to earn their 28th win of the season. The Magic are now 28-40 overall. They sit 3.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for 10th place and the final Eastern Conference Play-In spot. Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosely spoke positively about his team’s performance postgame.

“I’m more proud of the fact that we were in the exact same scenario the last time we played them and we didn’t fold,” Mosley said. “We gained and learned from the experience from last time, and that shows the growth of a young team.”

Wendell Carter Jr. led the way for the Orlando Magic. Carter Jr. scored 27 points on 12-for-17 shooting. He hit 2-for-7 from three and 1-for2 from the free-throw line. Carter Jr. also grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out two assists, and recorded a steal. Carter made some huge baskets in Overtime to allow the Magic to pull away for the win.
