Isaiah Thomas,
Steve Nash

TEAMS: Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns
#14, Sacramento Kings, 28-54
Thomas Robinson fell to them in the draft, and the Kings nabbed him to pair him with DeMarcus Cousins in the frontcourt. But Cousins is unhappy, Tyreke Evans has regressed, and the team’s off-court situation is in turmoil. Isaiah Thomas is my pick for Most Improved Player, and the other 3 members of the core are good. But this team has no bench, no true passing point guard, very little chemistry, and no money. It looks to be a frustrating season for the Kings, who need a lot of luck to play more than 82 games.
#15, Phoenix Suns, 26-56
To me, the Suns are the one team in the West with no chance to make the playoffs. They are done with Steve Nash and are now in rebuilding mode. They added a few nice pieces this offseason, but they just don’t have the elite scorer, the lockdown post defender, or the experienced point guard play to take them anywhere.
